And the others I listed.

You try to make the case that there was no difference between Trump and Bush on combatting Woke. Good grief! Bush politely demurred; Trump is going nuclear on woke. If you don’t see this you have your eyes closed or else you are just trolling.

Same thing with border security. Republicans “fought” the illegal immigration fight like the Washington Generals battled The Globetrotters. Then they accepted the eventual ratchet in the direction of more illegals and more amnesty.

Yes, I was. W was fricking horrible. I voted mostly Democrat back then although I’ve always been registered independent. I was a loyal fan of Bill Maher and the Daily Show. I never wanted open borders but neither party was much different in border control. An old Bill Clinton speech doesn’t sound a lot different from a Trump speech on border and trade issues.

But then the Democrats got crazy and left me behind. Democrat party was captured by the far left activists who are outwardly anti white and anti- western civilization. I see what these ideologues are doing to Western Europe and I don’t want that here.

I can understand a person not voting Republican but I cannot understand voting Democrat anymore.

He was 6 years old when Bush and Cheney were elected. Of course he's not a republican because of them

Is Ron Paul a republican? If so that's what I am.

Not gonna lie, if not for Trump & JD, I’d be very apathetic and resigned to the fate of the country.

I'm still dejected. I'm certainly enjoying the moment, but Congress is doing literally everything they possibly can to make sure that Trump cannot complete his agenda, and they refuse to codify ANYTHING that is MAGA.

If the GOPe in Congress would take action right here and now, they could set up a generation of Republican control. But they don’t, and they won't. I've never been more convinced that the GOPe would rather sky scream as the controlled opposition minority than to actually weird power and use it.

Same. I’d be conservative but would not have a party.

Best line I’ve read on here in a while. HUGE difference between a conservative and a republican.

Id like to say Trump brought sanity back to the political arena which was much needed.

But he’s no conservative. And I love that man despite that fact.

I vote Republican, not because of anyone in particular on the right, because of how absurd everyone on the left is.

This is the correct answer.

Other Republican presidents have been lacking, sure, but Trump is closer policy-wise to the left than any Republican President in my lifetime.

But yeah, he's still miles away from anybody on the left.

I've been saying the same thing for months now, and I'm afraid you're right about Congressional Republicans.

I'm a Republican because of Ronald Reagan. I was a Republican when Trump was still a Democrat.

I don't even identify as Republican, even though I register as one to vote in the primaries. I'm 100% MAGA.

Too many "Bad Republicans" for me to identify with them. That's why I was really glad when a poster here told me that Elon was back on board regarding the effort to primary the bad one's. Elon knows how to get things done.

What wokeness existed when Bush was POTUS?

Seems like neither one did anything about gays in the military. Trump has banned trans people, but I don't think that was a thing when Bush was POTUS.

Same with men in women's bathrooms and women's sports. That all started happening when Obama was POTUS (and gay marriage was solidified).

Same with BLM. Founded in 2013.

The first Antifa group seems to have been founded in 2007, in Bush's last year, and only in Portland. They didn't get cranked up nationally until after Bush was gone.

Same with DEI. It's been around since the Civil Rights Act of the 60s, but it wasn't a national "thing" until the late 20-teens. In fact, one could make the argument that it grew fastest and most malignantly under Trump's first term as POTUS.

I think you're trying to compare two administrations that are not really comparable in this context.

Please don't use broad, malleable terms without definitions like "America First", globalism, uniparty, etc. I'm talking actual policies with specifics.

That’s not a crazy suggestion. It has certainly evolved a lot in 20 years. But the affirmative action grift ws strong and repugnant during Bush’s time, and he basically took a flyer on the issue. Maybe Trump would have done the same given the climate back then, but SFP was asking for how their policies were different, and the difference in climate could be used to submarine all of the differences in policies.
