Then why is healthcare so difficult in America

Before Obamacare when I needed medical treatment, I would call the facility of choice (or set an appointment online) and be seen within a week. Show up to my appointment 5-15 minutes early as requested and be seen in a timely fashion (I always choose the 1st appts in the morning). I would typically spend less than an hour at the Dr.'s office. If therapy was needed, this would be scheduled for the next day before I left the office. If I needed some sort of test (x-ray, MRI, blood work) all done either that day or the next.

Government gets involved and I rarely get an appointment within 3 weeks unless it's an emergency or my chiropractor. All visits take at least 1 1/2-2 hours (still schedule first thing in the morning) because the doctor's need to see more patents each day. Rarely actually see the doctor, spend more time with nurses. X-rays are still same day, MRIs & blood work are usually either that week or the next. Haven't gone through PT to comment how that has changed.

I use the same doctor's and insurance company before and after Obamacare. Gov't involvement is NOT the solution.

But I want the most big government program of them all in socialized medicine.

Do you really want your clinics and hospitals run like the DMV?

Because government is involved in it too much for it to be easy.

Just curious.

You can send any amount of money you want to the IRS.

I’ll give you a link to the site.

IRS.gov “Make a Payment”

You’re welcome!

This whole thing is a classic example of

“Too much government created a problem, so let’s fix it with more government”.

And you really believe that's all the money they want from you. You give, they take. You refuse to give, they take anyway.

I think the OP recognizes an issue and a possible solution. I think it's the wrong solution.

I have a friend in the UK. The NHS over there is a mess. Of course the liberals (my friend being one) will have you believe this is only because a lack of funding. She also told me that their equivalent of a General Practitioner with 5 years of post-residency experience gets paid roughly the equivalent of $75K USD.

It is literally the best in the history of planet earth.

It can certainly be improved, but the lie of universal federal run Healthcare as a good much less a possibility is insane.

Can you name one massive program the federal government runs effectively and so efficiently that you'd trust your own health to it?

Tell that to all the Americans living in Europe who fly back suitcases of normal over the counter medicine (Tylenol, etc) that is unavailable for purchase in Europe unless your at risk of death and only if a Dr. approves.

The really cool thing about America is the freedom to make personal choices. No need for additional income taxes, if we could get all the Prog/Dim middle class and the wealthy Prog elites to just pony up the cash this healthcare problem is whipped. Sounds like you’re ready to write a phat check to the government this year to help fund national healthcare..., you are a true idiot...., err, patriot.

1.) American healthcare was mediocre.
Wait until the government gets ahold of it.

2.) Healthcare is just too complex.
That’s why we shouldn’t let Congrescritters like Pelosi, Schumer, Booker, Harris, and SheJack messing with it.

3.) I’m not a fan of big government
But you’re willing to give them one of the biggest controls over you.

I’ve lived in a country with socialized medicine. It made me yearn for Anerica’s “mediocre” healthcare system.

Just curious.

Pick a number.
We'll discuss it.
You'll learn something.

Try.
