If you read this article you’d know he was drinking at an official function with our allies (Ukrainian officers) during the early days of the war before we knew they would be able to beat Russia.

It’s impolite to not drink if your host does. He wasn’t at a club…

No you do not have to have them hancuffed to you. However, you are not allowed to drink while in possession of those. He should have had a classified courier with him that carried them. There is actual training and regular qualifications that goes along with being a classified courier with the ability to carry in civilian transport and to be able to transport classified through foreign countries.

This is true, which is exactly why they should have sent a classified courier with him to begin with.

I found and read the investigation report. There were 33 witnesses against him. They had already filed toxic work environment against him before all this happened. The Ambassador specifically told him not to bring them and while he did have classified couriers on his staff they didnt have authorization letters for it because they all told him not to bring classified. So he brought them anyway and proceeded to throw his staff under the bus for it. He got extremely drunk at the party the first night. So much so that he was still intoxicated the next morning when they were suppose to go to a meeting. That is when he fell the second time hitting his head and had to be carried to the hospital, at which point they said he was intoxicated. Seriously doubt anyone would touch him with a ten foot pole in the private sector. I doubt he could get a secret clearance but his retirement and disability he probably gets close to 22k a month so he isnt hurting.

I’ve read the plot device of negligently leaving secret documents on a train in a couple of Cold War era spy novels. I knew it was a thing, but usually the dumbass is relegated to a basement office desk behind a filing cabinet and given duty as a crossing guard in a pet cemetery, not a promotion to a third star.
