Do you need ID to buy alcohol?

Alcohol: Yes
Gun: Yes

A license to sell it?

Alcohol: Yes (not a crime to give or sell alcohol to someone else, only mass distribution)
Gun: Yes

Can you buy it from a third-party like your neighbor?

Alcohol: Yes (Good neighbor)
Gun: No (Felony)

Are there any rules or age restrictions against buying it?

Alcohol: Yes
Gun: Yes

quote:

Is it available anywhere anytime?

Alcohol: No
Gun: No

Can you be held responsible for selling too much of it to someone who then harms someone?

Alcohol: Rare case of knowingly selling to over intoxicated person
Gun: Rare case if selling to a known felon or someone you know intends to do harm.

So i would say they are pretty comparable and the argument isn't too far off.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

“The People” as defined by Merriam-Webster:
the ordinary people in a country who do not have special power or privileges

“Arms” as defined by Merriam-Webster:
a means (such as a weapon) of offense or defense
especially : FIREARM

“Infringed” as defined by Merriam-Webster:
to encroach upon in a way that violates law or the rights of another

so plain as day:
Ordinary Citizens (not just a militia, not just the military) have the absolute Right to own weapons (firearms, etc) without being encroached upon

sorry, end of discussion.

That’s a you problem. You being the greater socialist left, who want to destroy every part of the Constitution that stands in the way of your complete control of the populace. The real Americans among us suggest that you leftists anally abuse yourself with a cactus.

When guns are designed to wipe out rational thought and behavior, we can have a more constructive debate on the topic of killer alcohol.

Yes. So what? Can you be held responsible for selling just 1?

Bad argument.

So it's not about saving the most lives, it's not about changing the raw number of unnecessary deaths, it's about an ideology. Thank you for your honesty.

Can you tell us, at the time the second amendment was written, exactly what was considered the "militia"?

Some of us know what it means. It does *not* mean "under direction of the Government".

Alcohol is "designed" to both kill and protect. Same as guns.

This comment is too clever by half.
