Responses appear to go to OPM HR, with the manager copied.

And which of those do you think handles the response from "millions of strangers"?

None of the above, at least not in any way that's useful in "cutting bureaucracy."

"If I risk my life to cross several states and track down the man that hurt your family, did I destroy wealth or take it from you? If tracking down this bad man caused me to miss my own wife and son for several weeks while staying in shitty hotels across the country all alone, just so I can bring him in "destroyed your wealth" then you can be free to deny my services if the time comes. "

If you did that, put it in your email. What's the problem? ? Do you not send reports to your supervisor while you are doing this as a function of your job (SITREP) or are you a lone ranger who does what you want and does not answer to anyone? If you are assigned a mission I would think that you have to give an account on how you are proceeding with that mission.

Excellent observation.

So you think discussing the stupidity of this whole situation on a discussion board is me blaming other people for what now?

I never suggested that people shouldn’t do it but it’s a pointless and meaningless exercise that you apparently are well aware is just a flex by Elon Musk that serves no other purpose but to cost people their jobs.

Why would not want the opportunity to email a higher up directly and tell them what you've accomplished over the past week?

What is the context here? I read some of the other posts and I feel like there is something that happened involving email and job performance that I'm unaware of. Can someone provide a link? Then maybe I might be able to provide a coherent answer.

There's definitely going to be multiple layers of validation.

Based on the last month I'm not sure that can be assumed.

You wouldn’t mind. High level high performing people should relish the chance to say what they did.

My direct boss and his boss both know when something good happens because I report it up.

Not all people want to be high level though and dominate their field. I view it different though as it’s my job to put my boot on the competitions neck and work every day to break it.

Well, I don't work for the government, so you're already ahead there.

Also, it is shocking how many of you don't understand the short-shortsightedness of dismantling government this way.

It's a point blank bad idea and it's not going to end well unless they shift strategy very fast.

Not an argument. I'm letting you know this is not good for the republican party or America.

I don't expect anyone on this board to understand why.

I would suspect most Fed Govt workers arent the most competitive people.

Competitive people would welcome it.

Elon Musk tweeted that he got many responses already and wanted to promote people for presumably doing their jobs. Do you think he’s lying? The tweet was posted in this thread.

Democrat talking point. Govt has not been dismantled in the least.

Sending it during a typical non-work day and expecting a reply on the first work day with threat of termination is pretty extreme

Yes it is a very simple request but it will essentially require a fire drill from all of government to ensure employees that are scheduled off on leave or work schedules are aware of the email and have the ability to respond.

This feels like it is more of a drill to see if there is an actual person attached to the email.
