Sending a 5 minute email isn’t a fire drill. Everyone this applies to probably has email on their phone. Plenty of gov agencies aren’t going to even be required to do this.

Alerting all of the people to be aware of the email and be able to respond is the drill. Govt employees are typically provided government equipment and don’t have their work email sync’d up to their personal devices. Honestly the reason Elon tweeted about it was to get the word out quickly.

People who have scheduled leave on Monday or their work schedule has them off need to at least be aware that this request from “HR” exists and be able to access their govt email to respond.

Roger these are gov employees so any effort seems to be a problem.

The only people screaming about this are dems and gov workers which also happen to be dems.

Oh and the remaining cuckservatives that are still bound and determined to meltdown at any negative story even though the msm has been exposed as paid propaganda. Some habits die hard

They really arent competitive people and instead of opportunity, they see this as a personal attack.

I welcome any opportunity to distance myself from the riff raff and thought that was a universal male trait.

If the agencies don’t have a system to reach their people that’s a big failure and a sign that it’s not needed.

Every company manages to alert people in off hours about emergencies like weather and other shite.

Also I’m sure like everything else this isn’t being reported correctly and no body is going to be fired because they were on PTO and didn’t respond though it’s a weak sauce excuse. They will just email when they are scheduled to be back in.

If you are on PTO you should be a professional and have an out of office message up.

true - but not the point -

The hard worker will have less time and discomfort doing this than deciding which shirt to wear to work.

on the other hand, the do-nothing employee whose 'job' is ill defined in the first place, and not monitored in the second place, and has 'benefited' from his 'paid vacation' for years will be hard-put to define ANY verifiable product that he has delivered for the money he has been receiving.

Too bad - he can always "learn to code" === which was the advice the ones who are complaining about this gave to REALLY hard working oil field workers who were unceremoniously put out of work by the 'green new deal' bullshite driven by the past 'progressive' administrations. They snickered amongst themselves about how hard these REAL PRODUCTIVE WORKERs were going to struggle with their living expenses, while sipping their lattes with their feet propped up on their desks.

I would say most do but for emergencies. Would you consider this an emergency? Subsequently would you want to require employees to potentially cancel their leave or come to work on their day off so they can answer an email that really isn’t urgent at all. In addition for compensating people for performing the work.

This is true when you aren’t competitive you view anything as a personal attack instead of opportunity.

Also all common sense has gone out the window. We have people acting like the fbi and military and other important agencies are being asked to do this when it’s more likely the IRS, SSA and numerous stupid agencies being told to do this.

Well I’m not on social media other than here so maybe you should think about the fact that someone who wanted a trump presidency more than a Biden presidency, and is well documented on here as a slightly to the right centrist feels like musk is actually causing harm to the nation.

Take it for what it’s worth. I’m not a democrat and I have every reason to go with the flow so I don’t look stupid for thinking this was initially a good idea.

Private or public sector companies and employees do not equal government workers. Equating the two is a problem in and of itself.

I would go about this in a different way, but I'm not elected to do it.

The bureaucracy has to be shaved. We cannot afford the levels of government we currently have.

I dont see where we are "dismantling government." I see where we are minimizing government which is something everyone (non Democrat) should support.

I dont hate government, I hate wasted, inefficient government. If we can get rid of a lot of that, we can put resources where they better serve people.
