None for me. They are all fake, beholding to big donors and could care less about this country.
The dems at least have a road map to destroy this country and are sticking to it.
Going to sit out voting from here on in, you young people take it.

Newsom is running for sure. I think he'll come across as too fake and corporate. "Centrist propped up by big business" is not the label you want with Democrats right now.
JB Pritzker is almost certainly running. I don't know much about him, but "multibillionaire" probably is a disqualifying trait for the next nominee.
Kamala Harris somehow might not get the memo that everyone wants her to drop off the face of the Earth and decide to give it another shot.
Ro Khanna will probably run and lose for reasons others have shared. He is the next "Bernie" in the party.
I think AOC has her eyes on taking over Schumer's senate seat, and I wish her the best of luck.
Bernie is too old. I doubt he runs.
Mayor Pete will probably run. He's a great communicator and smart as a whip but not enough people will vote for a gay candidate.
I think Raphael Warnock is going to run, but he won't accomplish much. I doubt Ossof will run.
Cory Booker will run. I think he'll make some serious noise.
Gretchen Whitmer could be vice-president, I suppose.
My picks for nominee are Mark Kelly, Andy Beshear, or Wes Moore.

Good post.. I agree with many of the points you make .. and yeah the three I quoted would make a ton of sense .
However, I do see Ossoff running and I think he might be viewed, or perceived, as an alternative to the three above, or maybe a mix of them in some ways.
The more I think about it, the more I think Beshear might be uniquely qualified .. the Democratic governor of a red state.. not Jewish, not Black, not Gay (I dont think)... not one of those things should make a hill of beans difference in 2028, yet in bass ackwards America, they usually do matter.. Kelly also is unique for the same reasons (PLUS being a respected astronaut, I think ?).. Good stuff .

Ossoff is the smart play...which is why it probably won't be him.
In their giddiness after Tuesday, Democrats are forgetting that they have their own civil war that still is playing out. Ossoff, Shapiro, and Bashear probably can't get the nomination. The Bernie Sanders/AOC wing won'tlet it happen.
Here's a name you may not have heard in a while, but who might be able to get the nomination and even win. He could raise a shite ton of money from all your traditional Democratic sources,
Rahm Emanuel.
I certainly wouldn't vote for him...or any Democrat. But as a Republican voter, he's a guy who would worry me.

Yeah, two years is a long time in politics, but I imagine if it happened tomorrow they’d run Osoff. Relatively moderate, southern Senator, who can give crowds passionate rhetoric. I think my main take away for the events kf the last two days is just that the American public is actually very stupid. These same people vote W Bush, then vote Obama for two elections, then spend ten years voting for Trump, then vote overwhelmingly against Trump. All of those votes are so all over the map that the only lesson i can draw is that us on this board, and everyone who follows politics closely across the political spectrum are the sick weirdos and that your average normie voter is just voting entirely on tribes and has no set point of view

Agreed.. ive been saying for a while, I could live to be 100 yrs old, and I will never understand how a country who voted twice for a black guy named Barack, could then turn around and vote for a dude like Trump (in some cases three times).. I dont think it's 'stupidity' alone that accounts for it, though, I think it's apathy and just not paying much attention, or not thinking that politics matters to your daily life, when clearly it does .. and just blowing with the wind, following the crowd .

Nah, I dont think that paying close attention and being informed (or at least attempting to be informed) makes anyone sick or weird.. it's the opposite, in fact.. BUT I will say that it puts us firmly in the minority of American citizens.. there are plenty of times where the *majority* are the sick, weird ones .. and fewer people are actually the "normal" ones, whatever normal even is .

But I know this board leans conservative, and I remember many of my conservative friends circa 2007 saying things like 'Man if I was a Democrat id run that Obama guy for president', usually b/c they said he was well spoken or a good public speaker or whatever

I’m not sure if it will be 2028 but Abdul El-Sayed will be president in my lifetime if he can make some slight changes with how he goes about things.

Take Newsome off the list.. He has a long list of big corruption associated with him...
AOC runs too much off of a script.. Can't think on her feet...
These two would be torn up in debates.. And if no debates the ads and soundbites would do them in...

Dems are in a pickle regarding selecting one candidate to run for potus. They claim big tent but that is for voting in congress . The socialist will want their guy. The Muslims will want their guy. The Jews will want their guy. The blacks will want their guy. The gays will want their guy The women will want their guy.
The Muslims will reject the Jew, the gays the woman. The blacks will reject any non block and so forth…..
People on this board are saying Osoff but the Muslim faction will reject any Jew. The socilists are in line with the Muslims on this so Osoff AND Shapiro are out.
This is the situation dems are in….

I'm going to repost what I wrote in another thread because I think it's relevant here:
1. There aren't a lot of true swing voters. Far more people will voice their dissatisfaction by just staying home and not voting. Generally speaking, it isn't usually exactly the same people voting for Obama, then Trump, then voting for a Democrat again this week.
2. Some people aren't very politically sophisticated, but they know how to vote for "not this."
3. Voters have a very limited range of choices in a two-party winner-take-all system where incumbents often run unopposed in primary elections. Many people feel taken for granted and insulted when they're told they must continue vote for Party A even if the candidate is corrupt or has done a terrible job in office because Party B is too bad to vote for under any circumstances.
"Party B stands for [insert culture war issue here]! Therefore you have no choice but to vote for us for the rest of your life, regardless of whether we crash the economy or commit crimes or start pointless wars or do literally anything else! That's democracy, baby!"

You’re right. I was thinking Ossoff as well but they won’t nominate a Jew. It seems a stretch that an idiot like AOC could be chosen.
