I’m quite happy. I find one can get through life with zero expectations and be quite happy. You folks make a mistake of thinking you cannot be happy if you’re not expecting something.

expecting something is not the same as having high expectations for yourself, that's called ambition and you don't have much if you're content in a schitty run of the mill government job.
i can assure jughead there are a lot of people in the private sector that make a lot more money than government employees. if you aspire to be middle class that's great. i grew up middle class and was determined that my kids wouldn't.
