Take away our ports and you’re fricked for imports/exports
My company, who I won't name but if you have kids, you have our shiat... imports everything now to Savannah/Charleston.
Surprisingly, our costs went down. We just deal with lead time changes.
I worked for a few years in a different industry with domestic production, and we actually completely abandoned California, choosing to license production in that state. It wasn't worth all the costs of compliance and other bullshite. Never skipped a beat, just accepted royalty checks instead. Now, I was constantly having to approve packaging for all the prop 65 horseshiat for them, but better than dealing with lawsuits.
If California split off, they'd have to trade with the rest of us, or die. Their agriculture couldn't exist without resources from other states, and there'd be no market for it. There are other ports, and others could be developed. Point being, people would adapt. frick California.

Louisiana. The land of takers. It contributes nothing of value to America (other than football) and simply leeches off the other 56.

The correct answer is Deleware. They gave us the top law student in the land Joe Biden.

Yeah, that’s just not accurate at all. Export markets, like Asia, Canada & South America, take plenty and there’s a lot more of them than there are Americans. If you think our Ag industries need resources from other states you’re mistaken. If you think other states could pick up the production (they can’t) without draining their own aquifers you’re mistaken. You already have issues in the Midwest with existing production.
Ports also vary greatly in what can be brought in. It isn’t as simple as you’re making it out to be.

I would boot the gaseous state.

With the exception of the produce it provides, California. Next in line would be NY.
