Because it's way under mountains. It's not like they didn't know we were coming. They planned for this for decades. They dispersed components manufacturing to multiple small shops, and then final assembly is inside mountains.

You can find videos on YouTube of "missile cities" inside mountains that people drive through. Mile after mile of thousands of missiles and launchers. All immune to our air strikes.

We hit them 12,000 times and didn't destroy half of what they had. So Trump comes on the news and says: It wouldn't be fair to take out all their missiles. We could have if we wanted to. But since their neigbors have missiles I decided to be a nice guy and leave them some. They begged me to leave them a few missiles etc

Translation; we can't stop them from making ballistic missiles.

It's the same thing with the SOH. We can't stop them from closing it. So now we are negotiating with them to keep it open.

Iran now has far more leverage than when this thing started.

It's not a secret. Iran has been showing these missile cities off to journalists for years to try to deter attacks. There are dozens of videos of it. They invited CNN to take a tour and CNN published an in depth story on it.

You can Google "Iran Missile Cities" and you get dozens of videos showing how they've been preparing for this scenario or 30 years.

Same with their attack boats. The northern coast of the SOH is littered with cliffs, islands, and caves. They have hundreds of small missile boats inside those caves protected from bombs. They can run a boat out, fire a missile at a tanker, and run back into hiding before we can react.

If they want to close fhe SOH, they can do so. If they can stand to keep it closed longer than we can stand to keep it closed, then they win. It's that simple.
