Maybe I'm just cynical, but it seems like another distraction. The news cycle has been brutal for the libs. Gotta take advantage of some black guy getting beat to death by the cops.

People only seem to have so much attention, and this type of story seems prime to push aside news the administration wants out of the public eye.

When was the last time you went to a park to take pictures of the sunset? It’s not something most people do. Not saying he was a criminal but he seems a little quirky.

What?

My wife does it all the time - but from our high rise condo balcony.

We have another TD poster who clearly does frequently too.

You’re trying too hard to blame the dead guy or influence others to think poorly of him.

Get out and walk around. Your head is not right. Shake it off.

Based on fighting cops and fleeing.

Link the video and tell us the minute mark when you see him throw a punch.

I just read something earlier that he had been stopped twice earlier, by these same 5 cops, on separate occasions.
I guess he didn't respond to their threats....so they killed him.

o you have any reason to believe this “what if” might be true?

Do you have any reason to believe it’s not, or did you just read that one part of a hypothetical and not what my opinion was?

Hint:the last sentence, Sherlock.

This is one of the few times where you can't really assume that. Those cops looked like they had an agenda right from the outset.

There is absolutely no justification for the beating these police gave that man. They did nothing other than go on the offensive and they made absolutely no attempt to deescalate the situation. None whatsoever. JMHO

It was uncalled for, but I think it's only 4 officers as opposed to 5.

The other officer kind of removed himself.

I am just now finding out about any of this, so I don't know what happened. But if the cops were aggressive from the start, could it be just possible that he had already done something really bad, and the cops knew they were approaching a dangerous individual? Do we have any context whatsoever? Because these stories usually have a huge nugget of context missing, that doesn't come out until way after everyone has trashed the police.

That shouldn't be a prerequisite for staying alive when confronted by the people who are tasked with protecting the public. It's not that it isn't a legit question. It's just a question that shouldn't need to be asked.

The only legitimate uses of lethal force by the police are in self defense or in defense of others.

There is no context or ameliorating circumstances in which this murder should be considered beyond what we all see in the video.

Isn’t this the exact same thing said by the Democrats on Jan 6 when an unarmed 120 pound girl was shot? If she only listened she woukd be alive today?

So…..

Id hope most people would consider themselves superior to those Democrats.

The haymakers kinda gotta be exposed and im as pro cop as one could be. It is just a shithole city and they are all no different than each other. 5 cops and 1 subject all broke laws, all from the same race.

I agree.

You can also say the same for Floyd.

You clearly haven’t watched the video. He was never given an opportunity to cooperate.

Who is to say he would be alive if he had complied?

Watching that video, I believe they were just out for blood that night.

He will still be tried and convicted of murder... rightfully so.

Absolutely the case. Maybe they didn't intend to kill him but they were out of control savages and that beating was coming one way or another compliance or not.

The video where he refused to go prone so that he could bolt when he had a chance? And then bolted?

That doesn’t mean the cops didn’t murder him. It doesn’t mean they weren’t out to get him and it doesn’t mean they were in the right at any stage of this. It doesn’t even mean that he wasn’t justified in running; maybe he sensed something was up. But the guy didn’t comply and it’s weird that people either can’t see that or just refuse to admit it because they think it’s somehow defending the cops.
