That's a complicated issue. If he does what you're implying, Ted Cruz is a Canadian, eh? And is probably arrested as the zodiac killer, or so I'm told.

I agree he does. And implement e-verify (and actually use it, give it teeth), hire more border guards and ICE agents, and invest heavily in monitoring technology at the border (drones and shite). The wall is just a very, very expensive piece of symbology and it doesn't matter if it's there or not without the border guards and tech to go along with it.
If all that is pushed for is a wall we'll know he and the rest of the party is full of shite about border control. I never thought he'd do away with a DACA either but he did, so who knows.
Edit: and I should add this should be a congressional push, not something Trump does via EO's. That will give it legitimacy and less likely to be undone

This is low hanging fruit and was already in the process. But I have a huge problem with punishing those who had no choice in coming here, many of whom don't have any connection to their birth country.
This move makes him look weak and lazy to all but his cheering base, like pretty much everything else he's done.

He could end illegal immigration almost immediately by going after employers and benefits. Demagnetization would be vastly more effective than a wall.

Do an end-around. Make childbirth tourism illegal.
Prosecute anyone that comes to the US with the purpose of having a child for citizenship purposes. They go to jail, child goes to orphanage. Unless laws are changed, the child will still be a citizen, but a ward of the state.

Well it is debateable that anchor babies were never the intention of birthright citizenship. An amendment to clarify the language should get 100% support, but we know democrats would never do it because they see the situation as a way to undermine the government and as a source of power.
No citizen with loyalty to this country first would be against such an amendment to end the idea of an anchor baby.
