For all the wrong reasons maybe. People will start off watching just to see what he says. If he gets political then a big chunk of people will bounce.

I watched Jim open up for Metallica a few years ago. His Ozzy impression is absolutely hilarious.

Have you ever looked at who owns many of the NFL teams? Think of the colors blue and white.
What’s the count there?

You are missing the point. The product isn’t popular because they are making it popular with good sound business decisions and new fresh ideas. It’s popular because people love football. If the decision makers though keep throwing politics into the mix and letting some players like Kap shite on half the consumers then sooner or later people will leave and never come back. A lot have done left because of that type junk.

LMAO! But it is popular, so what the fawk are you talking about? Look at the money the players are being paid. They are paid that because the teams/league makes enough to pay them that.
Your statement is like saying “If McDonalds didn’t sell hamburgers, they would close.” McDonald’s does sell hamburgers, so the point is baseless.

Yeah it was 2019 I think. I’m sure there is video of it on YouTube. He was pretty funny. I don’t remember any other musical acts that night. It was just Jim and Tallica.

white liberal virtue signalers who don't watch sports will be huddled around the tv for halftime with their soy milk and tofu not understanding a god damn word from this bum and go online to celebrate best halftime show ever.
and white maga virtue signalers who don't watch sports will be huddled around the tv for am radio halftime with their bud lights watching a guy who writes lyrics about banging underage girls celebrate it as the worst halftime show ever

A rock band of guys 60+ isn't a halftime act for the Super Bowl
We saw Chubbie Checker... in the 80s.
Gloria Estefan... in the 90's. Several times.
Diana Ross in 96.
Paul McCartney in 2005, The Rolling Stones in 2006,The Who in 2010, you can go on.
Those were "old people", way past their prime, who could give a medley of songs that were universally known.
This actually would be right up Metallica's alley- they could basically take Auburn's Metallica halftime playlist, and perform it live.

They have such a market share in the U.S., the way to expand the business is to gain international market share. As such, they have regular international games and they book the most frequently downloaded artist in the world to perform their marquee event halftime show.
Sounds to me like they are making sound business decisions. They will not lose many fans, if any, over Bad Bunny, but they will gain viewers for tomorrow they may not have had.
They grow every year. They are finding new ways to grow. They are outstanding at business.
Kap happened a decade ago. The same people crying now were crying then. They never stopped growing.

Do you not remember how pissed people got at the NFL after Kap started kneeling? Then you had people doing that shite after George Floyd. A lot of people left for a long time. Most came back but for a good while the Shield was hemorrhaging viewers. Some people still will not watch the NFL to this day though. If the NFL wants to keep letting junk like that happen and basically just say to hell with half its viewers then people will eventually walk off again and never come back.

And all of you bitching are still gonna watch it and thereby support it. Weak arse bitches.

For many years it was, generally successfully, with lesser bands than them
The thing that changed wasn’t whether Metallica could succeed in that role (yes, yes they could) but whether they are eligible

Bad Bunny and his ilk are a flash in the pan. Symphonies cover Mettilca . Hell, bluegrass band do too! Enter the Sandman in the song used to come on the field! If the NFL was serious about eyes on a halftime show, Metallica should be near the top of the list. Instead, we are trying to get people who do not speak English to watch a sport that isn't even played in their country.
If Roger Goodell is trying to get viewers to change the channel in the largest consumer market in the world, this is a great plan.

Come on, Intro to "enter the sandman" to start the show. Be like the Virginia Tech entrance but with the actual band performing. That shite just cool dont matter how old you are. Its not too far left or too far right. Several songs that just fit.

I won’t be watching it. You can bank that !

I would have LOVED for it to be Huey Lewis and the News. A beloved San Francisco band. Unfortunately Huey has a rare auditory health condition now that has ended his singing days.
That and the fact there's no taste in great music anymore.

Everyone i know has been to mcdonalds. Not a single fricking person has ever heard of bugs bunny before the super bowl announcement. His music is terrible and majority people can't understand a single lyric.

I haven't watched a game since 2020. The NFL sucks now. Look at all the people in San Fran. It's all unemployed influencers given free tickets and media. None of the actual real fans are even there for the game.
