A rock band of guys 60+ isn't a halftime act for the Super Bowl

Bad Bunny will get at least 3 times as many live viewers in the key younger demos as Metallica would.
because 95% of that demographic live on tik tok and their phones 24/7. They won't even understand a word that man is singing.
We live in a clown world today.
Same reason why 20 million teens watched the superbowl because taylor swift was there last year. Means nothing.

I didn’t dance the Macarena when the damn thing was popular. Damn sure don’t do it now. I have not even heard that mentioned since what 92,93 something like that.
You are making my point for me. Why can’t I just turn on the tv and watch a football game? They always have to pick these dumbass halftime acts that want to preach out you and tell you how evil you are because you do not think like they do politically. We have days of buildup Will he or won’t he get political. It just gets old.
My original point was that Metallica was a safe pick. They will not have gotten on stage and said Ice Out. It would have just been a killer show and then back to the game with no drama and no speeches.
I have no idea where you are getting virtue signaling at. You would think after the Kap fiasco and all the antics after George Floyd that the NFL would learn. Instead they keep trying to do in the Shield.

quote:Yes. So what. All kinds of acts do that. It doesn't mean it's the right pick necessarily for the SB.
Metallica is still pulling in massive crowds today.
quote:I agree. Not relevant.
The New stuff Metallica has put out is not the classic stuff but still miles better than Bad Bunny.
quote:K. Your virtue has been noted as signaled.
Will not be watching.

The songs most his songs in Spanish.
quote:Sophisticated ear you have there - only care about lyrics and even then only if they're in Spanish. Got it. You know, Metallica has some instrumentals. That must REALLY give you the confuses.
What would be the point since I don’t speak Spanish.

Plus I don’t want to be preached at by some left wing idiot.

I could really don’t care how popular he is. If the dude wasn’t in a Cheetos commercial a few years ago then I wouldn’t even know who he is tbh.

I'm sure an archive search would find plenty of "go woke, go broke" prognostications from you. Those haven't aged well.

The NFL decided they didn’t want me as a fan when they supported the BLM movement.
I don’t care who plays their halftime because I’m not watching any of it.

The NFL would have folded years ago. The people in charge of running it just can’t take a win when it’s sitting right in front of them.

I didn't even know who the frick Bad Bunny was before this, and given what we now know about the dick-sucking punks in the 'rap game' I seriously question what talent this dude supposedly has.
Lemme guess. Synchro-dancing and singing and absolutely no instrument playing. Wow. You sure the world has changed?

The irony is Metallica has played every continent in the world including Antarctica(You can fact check me on this) but never a Super Bowl Halftime. In a weird way I don't want them to lower their standards & actually play a Super Bowl by the NFL rules on how they should play it & take orders on what songs to play.
handle checks out

So if Metallica is still pulling in massive crowds today and has a music catalog that draws the older and the younger alike plus are from the Bay Area then how are they not right pick to play the SB? You gotta help me out with that one.
As I mentioned above the younger folks like the newer stuff better. Older folks will go with the classic era. All bases are covered. They would have grabbed people from every age group where Bad Bunny will not. So in other words the catalog Metallica has is relevant.
Has nothing to do with virtue signaling. I’m just tired of celebrities pushing politics on me when it’s not a political forum and then making people out to be the devil if they disagree with them.
I do listen to music in other languages occasionally and can’t understand them either. The difference is at least they are cool.
Metallica has some great instrumental songs. Orion is the best instrumental song from the late 80’s till now imo.
We have been beat to death with politics from celebrities for years now. If you don’t agree with them then you are evil. I’m tired of it. I just want to watch a movie or see a game or a concert. When I want to know these people’s opinions on politics I will look them up and ask them. If they want to give out their political opinions then they should run for office and stop preforming.

holy shite
majority of everything that went woke backfired. So many lifelong NFL fans don't watch anymore since 2020 but they gained millions from swifites and other people who don't watch sports or even understand the NFL.
you must have missed the whole woke Cinderella going to shite and all the woke stars stuff getting canceled and the rings of power that flooped after spending billions.
and now they convinced a group of white liberal virtue signalers (beaux duke) to listen to a man sing music they don't even understand a single word of

Nope. I got a better idea. How about we find artists to preform the halftime show out of every genre of music. Then find artists that just preform and have a good time so you can enjoy the show and have a good time. If people want to preach politics then they should run for office. Otherwise just shut up and let’s enjoy ourselves. I wouldn’t even want to hear someone that I agree with go into politics during a performance. I’m not at a show or watching on tv to hear that shite. I have a tv and a satellite connection for that. I just want to have fun and enjoy myself when I’m listening to music.

You want entertainers to not be people.
They have every right to speak their minds publicly just like you do. You have every right to ignore them and not give them any money. Everyone’s happy.

so now we only pick hometown acts for the superbowl?
prince played the sb in miami - no complaints
the rolling stones, paul mccartney, the who, shakira and cold play? not a word
i think dr dre and snoop in inglewood in 2022 is the closest thing to a hometown show in decades
