Republican Congressmen are pretty well-connected, correct? If Trump was really a POS Russian spy, they would know. And they'd be publicly distancing themselves from him, coming to Mueller's defense when Trump takes shots at his investigation.

But instead, what do we have?

quote:

Lindsey Graham. Jeff Flake. And this time around, Trey Gowdy. And now Bob Corker is talking tough, too. Great. That’s four. Out of 289.

The above is from the Daily Beast's "Worse than Watergate" article from yesterday. 4 out of 289 GOP Congressmen have come to Mueller's defense. Don't you think if something was there you'd have seen them jump ship by now?

If collusion was found already, it would have leaked

If collusion really happened - what exactly was done.

Aren’t we still talking about sharing Hillary and Podesta’s emails that we’re hacked from her illegal server? Whose fault is that?

If the Russians shared those and exposed how corrupt the DNC is they were doing us all a favor.

Yep

The kicker for me today was Rand agreeing with Trump that the SC is a witch hunt

He wouldn't have done that if he knew something

CNN I had been pushing the “Trump is already past watergate” line for a while now. It’s so laughable. If there was even the slightest bit of evidence I promise you we’d all know and republicans would be running hard from all this

Are you dreaming? The primaries are just starting for the pivotal mid term elections.

No Republican is going to risk his committee positions by weakening his party criticizing Trump at this point in the game. They can always come back later and say that they were never fooled and where just waiting for Mueller to complete his investigation.

In for a dime, in for a dollar. To late to turn back now.

It has little to do with what they think the outcome of the investigation might be.

Do you own a reference book of trite expressions which you refer to every time you post?

If there was collusion, Obama would have found a way to keep Trump out of office

The alternative explanation can be found in a recent Bob Corker quote:

quote:

"look, people don’t ask about issues anymore. They don’t care about issues. They want to know if you’re with Trump or not".

Republican voters are sticking with Trump. Republican Congressmen stick with Republican voters. We shouldn't expect to see politicians peel away until their base leaves Trump.

You’re conveniently avoiding the elephant in the room.

If something in the realm of illegality existed, the Left (the 90%+ investigative journalists and the billionaire blue donor class) would have found it and exposed it for the death knell narrative that would assuredly destroy Trump and scream their victory.

They desire this outcome so freaking bad it is driving them literally into a deranged state of unrest.

Are you really suggesting that it’s a case of the elicit wrongful traitorous illegal act simply not being uncovered yet?

Billions in resources. The greatest investigatory entities in the world with access to the greatest technologies, and thousands upon thousands of people with the vast intellect and connections and access to these level of resources, all with this monumental hysterical desire to destroy this man, and after nearly two years, they simply haven’t uncovered it yet?

That’s just beyond asinine and delusional, man.

Either you need to come to grips with this and acknowledge the stark reality of this situation, or you need to get some help because there’s something broken in your brain.

You see, the trick is to use the expressions in a way different from how you normally see them used.

I wouldn't expect you to realize that since it's above your pay grade.

I'm not posting hoping that someone like you can follow it.

And while we're at it, why don't you post why you think it is stupid and how you reasoned that to be the case.

You should have thought a little while longer before you wasted your time writing all that palaver.

I was not implying that there is something real to the investigation, but only that the fact that the GOP has not stopped supporting Trump, does not prove that there must be nothing to the investigation.

The GOP Congressman are merely doing what is politically expedient.

I did that just to entertain you. You see, that is not the way you usually see that expression used, but you knew exactly what I meant, didn't you?

I actually think you're probably right.

However, the GOP goes from blocking Trump's agenda to aligning with his supreme leadership seemingly from day to day depending on whichever one better supports the argument.

Purposeful collusion would be a bombshell but in reality the public interest goes way beyond that. Obstruction of justice, or even unwittingly furthering Russia's efforts are matters that deliver value to the public interest. If roles were reversed (ie it's Obama instead) this board would have a stickied thread tracker celebrating every tiny piece of news.

The hypocrisy is mind blowing.
