The 72 y.o. is a private citizen. He doesn't work for us. He isn't entrusted with a badge and gun or authorized to shoot people as part of his public job.
But, yes. This is a questionable shooting that should be examined. I'm sure it will be and resolved before any of the DHS/FBI "investigations" are even completed.

I haven't heard of any disputes regarding the facts. When California prosecutes the ICE agent, I'm sure his defense will raise those arguments if there is a factual basis for them.
Contrast that with the people DHS has shot to death. There won't be any federal investigation that leads to a public report during this Administration. Maybe state prosecutions and civil litigation will produce the evidence necessary to show whether or not they were justified homicides.
I don't have all the facts. To an objective observer, it's noteworthy that STATE bodycam footage is released regarding DHS shootings quickly, but DHS bodycam footage hasn't been released...and probably never will be.
If they are clean shoots, why not be transparent?

It was her house. According to the police report, the ICE Agent attacked her and her father. In the Arbery case, the non-shooters pursued the victim and assisted in catching him. The daughter called her off-duty cop boyfriend who resolved the dispute without violence.
That's a ridiculous analogy.

That's what I hear from a police chief I know who has worked with some of them. That's the only personal knowledge I have...and that's hearsay...but he's trustworthy.
Of course, the only encounters that the media publicizes are the VERY small percentage which are filmed. That's why releasing DHS Bodycam footage would be really helpful.
Show the public that DHS thinks the shootings were justified AND provide the evidence. Otherwise, it's a fair and logical inference that DHS is hiding something.
Wouldn't we all have wanted transparency from federal agents under Obama?
