I would support a universal health care system

if this nation wasn't crawling with tens of millions of illegals and a welfare population with burdensome costs that make no indication of getting off to find a job.
If we weren't plagued with illegal immigration and we had a strong healthy economy with the only people on food stamps being the people who legitimately fell on hard times, then I would be open to the universal health care discussion.
But when you're taxed to shite over stuff that only benefits others, obviously the rational conservative will naturally support private insurance to keep their personal costs down.
Universal health care with low costs to the taxpayers will only work if all able bodied adults who are under retirement age are actually working.

A nation can't be a welfare state and have open borders. The math doesn't work.

Socialism can't work without contributors.
But if everything is free, why be a contributor, AKA sucker?

I would be for universal healthcare if everyone paid something.
I would also want a plan that allows you to roll over all of your monthly premiums if not used so you are creating essentially a Health Savings Account (HSA). Our Premiums should not be going to all these CEO bonus's, funding junk shite call centers that all they want to do is deny your claims. If this were real, I could have funded my families healthcare (Assuming not catastrophic events) 10 years ago. Think about it. Family of 5 my monthly premium is $1,500 a month with a $9,000.00 deductible. So every year I am on the hook for the first $27,000.00 multiply that times 10 years and that is $270,000.00 I could have rolling over.

You're talking about supporting a big Marxist program if the conditions to start that program are good.
When social security became law, there were multiple workers putting into the system for every person drawing from it, so those were good conditions to start that program. But these programs have to survive for very long periods, and conditions will sometimes be bad, like they are now for social security.
On top of that, politicians will always loot a big store of money, and if you have a large population "contributing" to a pot, that's a big target for those politicians. They've been doing it to social security for a long time.
The federal government has never had the authority under the Constitution to provide for health insurance, or retirement funding, or affordable mortgages, or bailouts for troubled businesses.

Nope.
Nope.
Nope.
Never.
Government breeds dependents. It is the only "universal" anything when it comes to government.

It would fail at producing quality healthcare as has been pointed out numerous times on numerous threads. The only thing illegals here would do to it is bankrupt us faster

Cool! Why don't you try it on for size by paying for my family's healthcare for a year or so? And in return, I'll tell you if and when you can go to the doctor, and which of your health problems you can't seek medical help for, because they are too expensive to treat, or you brought upon yourself with your lifestyle.

This lame, overused dig is a beautiful and welcomed thing. Why? Because it tells the rest of us who the shite-tards are on these boards
try coming up with something just a slightly bit more original next time, ok?

You aren’t going to pay less for a universal healthcare system. Nothing is free.
However much your premiums decrease your taxes will increase more.
Government isn’t the answer. Competition is.

Dude, that sounds like private health insurance.

I STILL wouldn’t.
The problem with this thought is that it completely ignores the fact that our system - as expensive as it happens to be - is essentially the last refuge for medical innovation.
Ever notice how geese flock, with the one up front working the hardest? If he slows down then the entire flock slows down. If he lands/stops then the entire flock lands/stops. Geese make it work by taking turns... but in our medical world there’s no one else to take the lead. So, we can either be content with mediocre increases in the medical field for the future, or we can continue to pay more and get those benefits.
Sure, other countries have better this or that but those advancements can almost universally be traced back to the American system. I can’t recall the exact numbers, but a few years ago I did some research on the subject and discovered that the overwhelming majority (over 60% and as high as 90% in some fields) of new life-enhancing drugs, new life-extending drugs, new cancer treatments, new vaccines, new surgical procedures, new medical devices, and more all come from (or are funded by) the American medical system. And that wasn’t just minor tweaks to make a few extra dollars off of something old, that was legitimate new and better stuff.
We’ve got 4% of the world’s population and we’re producing over 2/3rds of the world’s medical advances. If the other systems worked so well, then China should’ve cured everything from cancer to the common cold by now due to their sheer number of participants in their medical system (but they haven’t, they’re still drinking shark piss for eyesight and eating tiger meat to treat ED).
Could we have things universal like South Korea or Great Britain and save ourselves a lot of money? Quite possibly yes. But what if we had made that decision 20 years ago? 30 years ago? How many recent things wouldn’t have been developed? How many surgeries today are outpatient but 30 years ago meant a week in the hospital? You really think all the advances required to make that happen occurred because everyone involved had an altruistic desire to help mankind, or maybe because in our fast-paced ever-changing profit-driven system everyone in that chain of events was trying to get a leg up on their competition?
Until we have a moneyless Star Trek like system wherein everyone works as hard as they can because we’re just happy to be warping through the galaxy, until then, I’ll keep my current system. Well, what I had before Obamacare.

Does it? Wait and see what it sounds like when the full power and weight of the federal government is behind it. Ever been audited by the IRS? You'll think that was a sensual handjob compared to what happens with the government in complete control of healthcare. In the UK, they are forcing parents to let their babies die, even when the parents have means to seek treatment elsewhere, for fricks sake.

The VA for everyone!
Because government is so customer driven and efficient.
