I worked my regular job and a bartending job for 20 months to accelerate paying off my student loans, and then I worked my regular job, a part time bartending job, and drove for Uber for 6 months to finish paying off my student loans.

A little over $95k paid off, all by myself, with no help

26 months of busting my arse to pay off my student loans. What about people like me, Bernie?

if you promise to vote for him, he'll promise to get your student loan payments refunded to you plus interest!!!

can't beat that one.

You work(ed) hard. He's not pandering to you. He's pandering to people who don't want to work, just like all socialists do.

This is the most common response to Bernie's plan. It misses the really bigger point.

You will be paying for everyone else's loans that didn't pay and who go to college moving forward (everyone). That you had to pay your 95k is the least of your conerns.

Socialists don't build society around the responsible. Socialists build society around the irresponsible.

I worked full time and went to college full time when I could afford all of the classes. Sometimes I only had enough cash to pay for two classes in a semester.

frick all of these freeloaders. If this were to happen , I will need to find a way to cheat on my taxes so I can recoup the tuition I paid.

you think you deserve some kind of credit for that. You were taking up three jobs when some people had none. You should have to pay off two other peoples student loans since you cost them jobs. Jerk.

It's about to be free. And if Bernie can assure some sort of passing minimal GPA then everyone can go to college and get a DGree.

Sorry, you are probably too industrious to vote for a socialist anyway. You don't count.

You mean the job at Cheddars in Iowa that you whined constantly about your coworkers?

What Pimp said.

Hell, if I knew I was going to get a pass, I would have gone to a much better/more expensive college and never paid them back.

Of course, Bernie and Co. will say this is ridiculous, and this would be a "one time" thing to avoid such incentives...ignoring that they say the exact opposite when it comes to amnesty for illegals.

Exactly

Not only did OP work his arse off to pay off his loans, his taxes will now go up so he can pay for those who didn't pay their loans

The average student loan amount is roughly the same as a low to medium price auto. I don't get the angst from those who have a moderate amount of student loan debt.
