it would take a LONG time for the US to destabilize

ADMINS THAT WAS A JOKE.

again, promote non-emotional, logical arguments. marginalize the insane and subjective

Which brings me to women in engineering, the medical field, law, etc., - we as taxpayers and the women themselves spend a LOT of money to be trained professionally, only to drop out at extremely high rates (relative to men) in these fields. There's no telling how many millions of dollars have gone to medical schools that trained a currently non practicing female physician.

oh i know. that is a potentially legitimate discussion but i never get to have it b/c it devolves into subjectivity almost exclusively. i even avoid the classic "so you're arguing against science?" trolling and still get to that response

What was their viewpoint? These women were all over the place. Looked like another DNC rally to me

Female dentists are doing the same thing.

The need to be aggrieved has me mystified.

While I would much more support this kind of march, the signs, chants, and interviews indicate otherwise.
So now we believe what we see in the media? Of course the crazy, outspoken ones will get the airtime.

What, specifically, are women here at home not allowed to do that men are allowed to do? We have the same rights and opportunities as men.
Legally, yes they have the same rights, but do you not realize that oppression happens regardless? How many wives of men on this message board do you think would never be allowed to march for women's rights? Do you think Melania would be allowed to march? As a woman, do you honestly believe you would get equal consideration as a man applying for the same job with the same qualifications?

why?

it's a race to the bottom b/c they have constructed their rhetoric to shut down opposing viewpoints if they are uttered by a person of superior privilege/status. so the best way to have everyone listen to your subjective experiences and arguments is to be at the bottom

How do women in Africa, Asia and the Middle East feel when they see women that: can work, drive, go to college, get an abortion, marry a man or woman or no one at all, own a business, get justice if they are raped, can opt out of genital mutilation or breast-ironing, can file for divorce and, finally, walk in protest of everything and nothing...with their tits out... marching for gender equality in America?

I imagine some eyes are rolling behind those veils. We'll never know for sure, though, right? Because they can't show their faces.

Classic attempt to move the goalposts, super flimsy and doesn't take much to see through.

A population of people feel marginalized and want to act on it in the country where they vote and pay taxes, and your response is, "well what about them over there? You should be grateful!"

This kind of thing is for the birds and has no place in adult conversations. Consider any issue you might be on the minority side of and somebody telling you "They can't even do (fill in blank) in (insert any location outside the US) and you want to do (fill in the blank) here??? You should be grateful!" You'd never accept that as a respectable counterpoint, nor should you.

So stupid.

Old-school patriarchy was much better for men all around (women, too, I think, but that's more controversial), but now hypergamous sloots ride a dick carousel of the highest value males they can find instead of being religiously and socially pressured in to monogamy.

Holy crap!

I've figured it out. Progs really are living in the 1950's harboring irrational fears

So unfair...young men becoming feminists and deferring to women? Feminist male millennials should march for equal pay.

this has been true for a while, iirc. i believe sowell did this same research in the 70s or 80s

also, women DOMINATE men in terms of education these days. i think it's like 60/40 in terms of undergrad degrees

Since y'all were discussing stability in the US....you know what is the most destabilizing force possible? A generation of young men with poor economic and sexual outlooks.

Yep. The internment camps meme was just another instance of their irrational fears.

Has Trump outlawed gay yet?

Affirmative action says no. Women don't get equal consideration as men. They get MORE consideration than men. Gotta hit them diversity quotas!
