I think Donald Trump learned that no matter how he frames it, and I have ZERO doubt his intentions are whats best for the US, the media will completely use it as an opportunity ti distort whatever he says so why bother.
Not having to spend 2 hours with the media is more time he can use to get shite done.

Nope.
This would accomplish nothing, especially with a media that is going to go against anything he does.
I remember the Covid press conferences very well. Our media sat there and lied before, during, and after those press conferences. It was very clear from the start that Covid was going to be leveraged as a tool against him.
The MSM, in conjunction with the Uniparty, would just derail any progress he is making with this. Even if I don't agree with what he is doing, he would be stupid to put this out there for our media to twist, turn, and ultimately use against the country, just like they did with Covid.
This would accomplish nothing, especially with a media that is going to go against anything he does.

Scott Bessent has been on probably 25 different MAINSTREAM Media shows AND Podcasts explaining step by step exactly what they are doing
When there is a press conference after a football game, if the press has detailed questions about the offense… do they interview the head football coach or the Offensive Coordinator?
In this case, Trump is the head coach and Scott Bessent is the offensive coordinator.
Start paying attention before skyscreaming with your nonsense doom and gloom. Scott Bessent has been phenomenal explaining EVERYTHING.

I think anything other than status quo is a win.
If the tariffs stay we rebuild domestic manufacturing at the likely cost of a short term domestic recession and eventually the trade deficits come down while seeing massive increases in tax revenue.
If the tariff threat causes other countries to renegotiate their trade deals with us we minimize our trade deficits, increase domestic production and avoid a recession.
Again, the only threat I see is in maintaining the status quo. We are stuck between a debt service wall and flat economic growth as a declining service economy.
