We just had Sfp interject her ignorance on Polish politics. How about you stick to researching the Commercial Umbrella / Excess Liability policies of local ambulance services.

the EU wants poland to drop their currency the zloty and adopt the euro, to do so poland would be required to transport their gold inventory to Frankfurt, GE and deposit it in the EU Bank

I can't find anything saying Tusk in any way supports this.

He's a conservative politician so it make sense.

Here is Tusk's finance minister earlier this year: Polish finance minister says Poland ‘will not adopt euro’

quote:

In an interview published by the Financial Times (FT) Andrzej Domanski, finance minister in the centre-left government led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, intimated that Poland’s high rate of economic growth was well served by it keeping its own currency, the zloty (PLN).

“Our economy is now doing clearly better than most of those that have the euro,” he said.

quote:

“Two years ago I was a bit worried that Poland could be left behind in a two-tier EU and outside the Eurozone, but today Poland is clearly in the top economic tier, and I see no strong reason to abandon our own currency,” Domanski said.

“I will not allow the far right to take us out of the European Union. That's why I'm ending democracy today."

To be fair, this is not what was said. This is someone's interpretation. Here is what he said that is being interpreted that way. However, the prime minister doesn't have the authority to "stop" them from doing anything. Here is what he actually said:

quote:

“I will not allow the right wing to lead us out of the European Union. That’s what the game is about today.”

He has no authority to stop this in reality. If Poland decided to leave the EU it would only require a simple majority of parliament (through legislation) and the President's signature. So he is seeking to gain control of the judiciary ahead of elections anticipating that if the right gains a control of the parliament that they'll do exactly that. The play here is to lock down the judiciary so that they can mount legal challenges to any anticipated withdrawal legislation and stop it judicially.

To do this he is stepping outside his authority in suspending the president of Poland's Constitutional Tribunal and using police to literally gain control of the court by force.

Bro. Take my advice from earlier in the thread. Learn about the things you're trying to post about. You are completely ignorant about Parliamentary politics

quote:

anticipating that if the right gains a control of the parliament

Tusks government is on the right. They already have control

This board is full of dishonesty, yes. I'm still perplexed as to why anyone would have a problem calling it out.

No substance whatsoever other than simply saying, "you're wrong and I'm right." As usual.

They clearly do not. Let me repeat what he said in case you missed it.

Constitutional Tribunal Showdown (November 2026): Tusk has defended a contested government overhaul and suspension of leaders at Poland's Constitutional Tribunal—a court originally shaped by the PiS conservative government—stating that decisive measures are required to restore judicial independence.

Conservatives and President Nawrocki have strongly condemned the move as an illegal power grab or coup, leading to large street protests and police deployment at the court in Warsaw. Poland's conservative opposition moves to oust Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government ...

to make the switch to the Euro the Consitutional Tribunal position has to be flipped.

That is allegedly the silent driving force behind the “coup” seizing control of the Constitutional Tribunal

That was a different thread. That one was sharing a hilarious take on blaming everything on Russian interference.

This one is a little more serious.

If Tusk didn't control Parliament, then he wouldn't be PM.

That's an over simplification, but you need to start at the basics.

His comments about the "right wing" are primarily referencing his main competitors on the right, the PiS.

Nawrocki is a member of that competitor on the right and he's causing this issue with the judiciary by not swearing in replacements which, apparently, allows the judges his party put in power to remain in their seats past their term ending.

Democracy is no more sane or virtuous than the wisdom of the people. Good intentions don't count.

It's a zero-sum-game; the Authoritarian Socialist vs the Capitalist/God-given Rights Constitutional Republic, here in our Nation. Like 'musical chairs', one side or the other will grab the last chair and declare Formal power and the other will declare legitimate and justified rebellion.

Two more days and the real struggle...gets real.

But nothing indicates Tusk wants it to be flipped and both he and his government have come out against it.

This conflict is due to Nawrocki h and Tusk and the judicial appointments. Narwocki is refusing to swear in the judges Tusks's governments chose (via democratic methods).

Nawocki is doing the "you started it" framing and using misleading terms like "coup"

This beef goes back to like 2015 or something, per reading I did tihs morning.

Obviously, if the PiS gains control of parliament, Tusk's government would be ousted. Hence the need for them to gain control of the court in advance of that. As I said.

Man, for someone who claims other people are ignorant of these things you seem to have this bad habit of lying about what other people have said.

Almost as if you're using strawman arguments.
