Auto auctions are probably pretty quiet these days.

the auctions were crazy, dealerships loading up on used cars so they would have something to sell

I overpaid for a used expedition in august, but it is in great shape and it was what I wanted

drove all the way from Southwest LA to Dallas

Everything I've seen shows up as being in Dallas as well. What's going on?

It took me almost 4 months to find the vehicle I wanted back at the beginning of the year. Yeah, it’s bad.

Got there right when they opened after it was posted the previous night in a BFE town a couple hours away. They had 5 more people try to buy it right after I left. Crazy times.

Well, I wanna but a car with a real engine before they are gone! I'm not ready to drive a golf cart every day!

You are about 40 years late.

First time in my life a vehicle is worth more 2 years after I bought it.

Yeah I know several people who made money on 3 year old cars. My BIL needed a new engine in his 2016 Tahoe. It had over 100k miles on it. They still have him 20k on trade. It’s insane

I bought a Volvo for my wife. No issues, though I did have to drive to Nashville because Birmingham doesn’t dealer trade to get the color she wanted.

4K off sticker, which isn’t a great deal but isn’t the worst either.

Bought a new SUV in August, paid sticker. Originally I wanted a two year old version but the price difference between the used and new was not much. Same dealer is now charging $7500 over sticker for new vehicles. #LGB !

I said I was going to buy us a 2022 expedition since they have blue cruise available now and it got a little bit of a refresh.

They usually hit the lots by now but some are saying they won’t have them to spring. I also know it will be MSRP or nothing.

So I’m just going to put buying off for another year. Keep packing that premium priced fuel into the armada.

Dealerships are having their employees park their cars in the front so it looks like they have inventory
how do they even have employees?

Cars are imported/exported through Jacksonville, Brunswick, GA, SE Texas, Portland, L.A., Oakland and Baltimore. Some are trucked from the ports. Some are railed and then trucked.

Family friend got in a gnarly wreck in his brand new F-150 Lightning (I think that's the hybrid model). Bent the frame so typically that's totaled.

After assessment the insurance company elected to repair it because it would be cheaper than paying the value of the vehicle out. Weird times man.

Hmmm...if only we once had a president who warned us of this exact scenario.

Lots of money being made selling those used cars that sat in flood waters in the past. Take a damn close look at that super clean used vehicle, it may be super clean for a reason.

The reason I went, their website said they had 24 in inventory of the model I want. Totally deceptive information....these 24 vehicles were in transit from a factory that any dealer can purhcase! They were all sold but 2.

So a car dealer lied to you? Shocking!!!

You obviously have never driven over I-610 bridge at the Port of Houston and observed all the cars freshly delivered via ship
