T wouldn't worry, the ACLU will be along any moment now to sue VA for blatant 2nd amendment rights violations.... right?

Take a look at a map. All the politicians, bureaucrats, lobbyists, and general government teat pieces of shite, live in northern Virginia.

Yes I posted it two or so nights ago. The bill has been introduced as well as a bill to restrict concealed carry by out of state people potentially including out of state LEOs. (I realize whether a citizen is LEO or not should have no bearing on 2nd A rights, it just shows how off the chain Va socialists are.)

Here’s a list of what the judiciary committee voted on this past Monday.

ACLU was on NPR last night talking about the bill. They are monitoring the bill, and will consider legal options if passed and signed into law in current form.

Also here’s a recent article from a LEO site

In other words, they want everything but your antique rabbit ears shotgun, for the time being. It would be next.

While some critics might cite that HB 961 allows for owners of certain types of the defined assault weapons can petition for a special license to keep them, it’s no promise that they’ll be approved.
Furthermore, if approved to be on the list, the names of those individuals will be placed on a database. We all are privy to how well lists like these strengthened the disarmament of the Jews in WW2 Germany via the Republic and the Third Reich’s contortion of it.
Guns that carry ten or more bullets in their magazine would fall under an assault weapon as defined
The ban would also encompass any gun that carries what’s known as a folding stock, which all that means is that it’s a rifle
Also, if your unloaded gun weighs more than 3.125 pounds, it would be an assault weapon
If your gun has a detachable magazine and a second hand grip, then that would be outlawed
any revolving cylinder shotgun would be outlawed
Also, any gun that has a threaded barrel would be banned
purchasing only 1 handgun in a 30-day period,
In other words, they want everything but your antique rabbit ears shotgun, for the time being. It would be next.

It is unlikely that this bill will ever see a committee hearing, much less reach the floor for a vote.
Don’t get your panties in a knot.

I have never purchased a firearm with the intent of harming an individual, they are for recreational purposes only, therefore it’s not a weapon.
A baseball bat is not labeled a weapon but many have been used to inflict pain on an individual.

I haven’t gotten to the house bill yet. I’ve paid all my attention to the senate judiciary stuff they did Monday.
The House will have the most commies loon dems in it. That’s where you’ll find the most aggressive anti 2A shite.
They will start with full ban then offer compromise to something lesser. They get one step closer to what they want and Virginians have their gun rights eroded.
This isn’t going to fly well.

It’s time for an armed uprising in that state if that bill gets passed.

ACLU "considering legal options" is code for we ain't doing anything to dry up our fund raising.
30 years ago they would have tried to protect 2nd Amendment rights. Today, the left is so far left that the goal of totalitarianism is out in the open. Can't have their socialist paradise with an armed citizenry.

Right, because Virginia has been so reverent and respectful of citizen's constitutional rights lately, huh Hank? Virginia's socialist democrats are overtly working to violate the 2A. If it were any other right in the BoR, they would already have been removed from office, and up on charges.

Gun control advocates are saying that any firearm that meets their definition does not have the ability nor suitable for sporting purposes and therefore, ownership itself, is proof of intent.
By having a laundry list of definitions, they can always "reinterpret" them and/or add more features just like California has done. As far as magazines capacity goes NJ had it at 15 then later on lowered it to 10. No proof as to why 10 or even 15 rounds is "needed" over standard capacity and none will ever be provided as it doesn't exist other than hunting doesn't require it.
