It’s a brief CR, not the budget.

We should not be passing CRs.

Notice how he's not owning his tie-breaking vote to advance one of Biden's predatory budgets out of committee?

That excuse has been good since the 2008 Financial Crisis. Remember the $700 billion bail out in 2008? Yeah, that has never been taking out of subsequent budgets. Just placed into the Treasury to sell more debt year over year in CR after CR.

We have not had a regular budget since 2008.

And people wonder why the debt is growing exponentially.

Massie legitimately pointed out that the new budget includes funding things that were supposed to be cut by DOGE?

How are yall attacking the guy for calling that out? DOGE was a dog and pony show with no substance so far which is extremely disappointing. So many of you identify with Trump even though he’s never struggled to pay bills or been a common person. Politics in this country are a joke, entertainment for the politic obsessed weirdos.

In this case he is right.

At least he didn't blame Trump for first Johnson/Thunes lack of pre-emptive and effective strikes, Jefferies/Schumer's spin and lies, or for Biden's budget (which this is a continuation of).

Guess that comes later when enough eyes are on him.

Bad troll. Massie has done nothing to go to jail. He has nerve in thinking his guy could have fixed DC. If his guy makes it out of a primary that's great-

But he didn't so why was he a menace and whine fest about how DOGE isn't being done correctly---- when he can't fix it with meatball fairy dust. There is no law against attention whoring, I wish him well.

It’s pretty simple. Guys like Massie dissent for a living. They get to run as “republicans” but when it comes down to it, they will not be a part of a unified front that Democrats maintain and have gotten us to this place right now.

He can be right about the things he says, and may be right about most things in a political vacuum, but also be a major contributor to inefficient government. This is all just to say that his empty words are meaningless. He has postured himself on an island and won’t be part of any alternative budget he may find acceptable, because he makes his living off of disagreeing, not advancing any agenda.

The net result is he delays what the Dems want to do.

The package was a CR. If reps cut anything in the package they lose the “ifs just a continuation of the previous budget”. And the dems would have had something to target.

Now the Rs have the high ground and the Dems are defending the bill if illegal health care and tranny health care.

All while slumming it up in Napa at a 5 star winery.

Optics….politics is all about optics

There's no nuance for "principled" Liberaltarians like Massie. Everything is a line in the sand and a purity test. I'm sure he felt so strongly about it that he lobbied his fellow Republicans staunchly to vote against it, rather than just doing nothing, sitting, back and pointing his finger in judgment and showboating on social media afterward though.
