Took the kids to learn about the Japanese internment camps in Idaho today.

Honest question: if we’re celebrating 250 years of American history, why isn’t this part of the 250th anniversary celebration? Seems like it definitely happened and was very American.

???????

Did it happen 250 years ago ... because something very important did. That very important something is what we are celebrating. Do you know what that "something" might be?

You should report yourself to child protective services.

Shortly afterwards, you should get a vasectomy.

Because it's really not important?

Can a disingenuous question be an honest question?

Agreed.

It definitely saved the U.S. from a potential fifth column on the home front if Yoshio Harada's behavior on Ni'ihau in the Hawaiian islands is to be taken seriously.

I agree that this is an issue that needs to be talked about more. What we did to those Japanese-American families was terrible.

Just to make things clear, who was the President at the time? And what party affiliation was the President and his administration? Oh that's right, they were Democrats. Well then, I guess that's just par for the course.

I wish we could lock the OP in an internment camp.

The only reason people bitch about those camps is so we all will be conditioned not to do it again. That's back when we took no chances with the well being of Americans, and didn't concern ourselves with the feelings of those we have no responsibility toward.

That was FDR. More accurately that’s communist history.

Signed up today. 2 posts.

It was during wartime, and a Democrat President thought it was the right thing to do.

You should demonstrate historic seppuku for them. For the sake of their proper education.
