the alarming thing is that she doesnt realize that the mask is probably doing her more harm than not...the other alarming thing is someone had sex with her 4 years ago

If all of that is true then the existence of covid didn't change her vulnerability much. She's going to be vulnerable to all sorts of issues everyday. She has the "expressive individualism" mindset that so many younger people have today. They all want to be special and unique and they want everyone to acknowledge their special and unique existence everyday. They need affirmation to feel like they exist, otherwise they feel invisible.
