Not in criminal cases, at least.

Explaining the difference in civil and criminal is above his abilities, though.

There is a reason they were freaking out and replacing USAs to get an indictment for this weak case.

You think the case is so weak but a Northern VA grand jury decided to indict?

Incredibly weak case? The guy is on film lying several times to members of Congress while under oath. How is that weak again? Were the videos of him lying to Congress deep fakes? At least she is getting this piece of shite for something which is going to expose all of it.

Fox News LINK

quote:

"I don't think there's a case," Fox News contributor Andrew McCarthy said on "Mornings with Maria" Friday. "The Russiagate stuff, I'm as big a critic of that probably as there is. I wrote a book about it. I think it was a disgrace and history will remember it that way. This indictment is not about that."

quote:

"[The indictment] seems to be premised on something that's not true, which is that [former Deputy Director Andrew] McCabe said that Comey authorized him to leak to the Wall Street Journal. If you look closely at what McCabe said, what McCabe said was that he directed a leak to The Wall Street Journal and told Comey about it after the fact," McCarthy explained.

"So it's true that Comey never authorized it in the sense of okaying it before it happened," the legal expert expanded. "So I don't see how they can make that case."

quote:

"I [have known] Comey for 40 years. I like him, I was in the office with him," McCarthy said. "But on legal stuff, I try to be clinical and call it as I see it. So I think this judge should throw the case out, but I'm afraid that he won't throw the case out because everyone will say, ‘He's a Biden judge and the fix is in.’"

"Even though I wouldn't want to go through it myself, it's probably better if there's a trial and the jury acquits him. But this case should be thrown out," McCarthy continued.

Until, unless, they can get a network to run a long journal.on this, it will not matter. This has to get mainstream through a MSM network before it can gain traction.

That's your argument? A Fox News correspondent "legal expert" who hasn't seen any of the evidence thinks the case is weak?

O.k. Somebody else has posted a video in one of these links on some news show where a "legal expert" predicted he was going to be convicted of something.

I think he's right and your "expert" is wrong, and I can tell you why.

Referring to your expert as "expert A," or for brevity's sake, just "A," and mine as "B," A is missing the point, while B seems to understand what this is all about.

Trump is subjecting this guy to the same treatment he and those surrounding him got for the RRR investigations. Basically combing through everything they could on basically no reasonable probable cause.

Because if you do that and you look deep enough and long enough, the chances are, you'll find something. Five people were either threatened with being charged or were charged and had to spend money to defend themselves from Crossfire Hurricane, and the one who was convicted was convicted because he added the phrase, "Not a source" to an email about Carter Page, who was, in fact, a CIA source.

In that context I think they are going to accomplish exactly what they set out to accomplish. They just want probable cause t investigate IMO.

And they will have thousands if not tens of thousands of emails, texts, etc. to look through, and if you can be convicted of a crime for adding "Not a source" to an email I think their chances are pretty good.

So did B on that news show.

You took all those bogus charges against Trump seriously, but let me guess, Mr. Conservative. Everything the Trump Administration does is "Political Theatre," right?

Buckle up, Ham Sandwich Boy. The 4th Quarter of 2025 is going to be very, very tough on a pro-Political Establishment STATIST like you.

McCarthy bff’s in the whole world are John Bolton, George Conway, and Comey.

McCarthy is basing his opinion on McCabe only informing Comey after the leaking. He has no idea if McCabe or others will testify.

I see your McCarthy and raise you a Jonathan Turley

They’re going to have problems securing convictions in many of these cases. Indictments aren’t that difficult to obtain. That’s why they let an inexperienced political appointee present the weak-assed case against Comey.
