I'd agree with the first that it was an uphill battle, but what we usually hear here are versions of the second.

I mean in the sense like I replied to AC. His brand is being damaged. He should have waited until 2028. Trump plays dirty, is an a-hole and does not pull punches. Good bad or indifferent.

There is a huge void in conservative talk and strategy without Rush ... And no one has seemed to try to replicate him. What Rush did, that no one else has done, is dig into the strategy of the Democrats based on their current time actions. He would foretell his listeners what the Democrats were doing , why they were doing it, and THEN he would expose the Democrats future moves that they were leading up to.
All the other political shows only react to what is happening with zero 8nsight or intelligence of why and what to watch out for coming down the line.

Buck & Clay aren’t filling his shoes.

If he's anything like me, he didn't see this happening. I didn't.
Not for the life of me would I have thought people would have turned on a guy most loved simply because Trump (and allies) told them to. Not a guy with the track record DeSantis has in Florida.
I'm sure he thought this would be a contest about job performance, policies, etc. And if Trump DID go dirty, people would see it for what it was...just bullshite being spewed in an election.
But you can see it on this board...most hard core Trump people BELIEVE the obvious lies he's said about DeSantis, so much so, that you may be right that DeSantis could potentially be done after this. Only person that helps is Trump, 'cause it sure doesn't help "us."
Maybe Rush would have seen that ahead of time, though I tend to think he'd have had more faith in our side not to buy such bullshite as this.

I've been surprised how so many young people don't understand is effect on the media and how influential he was. His solid calming takes on issues of the day helped us look at it differently. Yes, today there are several people who give good takes on today's political environment but nothing like Rush. Yes I miss him.

I don’t think Rush ever publicly supported or endorsed a candidate during the primaries. Said that’s not something he believed in doing.
