By a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court can make anything illegal or legal they want to, provided the right case makes its way to them. Their logic can be flawed, silly, even outrageously so..and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it.

Biden's new Ministry of Truth could go after them.
If it were in their interests.

But it's not. Therefore, crickets to the media.

Pentagon Papers case from the Nixon era

And led directly to Nixon's demise.

The Watergate break-in was all about trying to get info on the person who leaked the pentagon papers. To think it had anything to do with election politics is silly. But Dems always involve their best criminals in their electoral process.

It’s not against the law( unless your name is Julian Assange) to publish leaked information

I think they can only get into trouble if it's classified info. What should happen is an investigation into how it was obtained and who obtained it. Source anonimity be damned, but "it's an anonymous source" is all anyone's going to get and they're okay with it.

I think it depends on what kind of information is leaked. The Pentagon Papers were rightfully released because they exposed gross government corruption and lies and so that leak was for the public good. The same with Assange and Wikileaks...massive amount of corruption exposed. However, when James Wolfe leaked Carter Page's FISA application, a federal prosecutor opened an investigation because there was sensitive national security info about Page's previous history with the FBI and CIA. Even the FISA application is highly classified, so in that regard, they will go after the media like they did to Ali Watkins at the NYT who exposed Carter Page's FISA warrant. LINK

Zero, zilch, nada, zip. Reference NYT vs United State (The Pentagon Papers) case.

The real “crime” isn’t breaking the news…it’s working at the behest if government as if it were government media.
