I’m immunocomprised and lived with elderly parents at the time. I got the first one.
Then went on a cruise in Jan 2022 and got the damn thing.
I’ve had it two more times since, so I’m not getting another vax for it bc my family has history of heart issues. Now that we know these crap vaxxes don’t work and harm the heart, I’m not touching them. Kudos to my doctor who did not push boosters on to me at all.
I support anyone and everyone who did or did not get the first round. I’m floored by the number of people who have gotten it and still get boosters. That’s just stupidity right there.
Only traditional vaxxes for me going forward. This mRNA stuff doesn’t work.

I think it's more what risks you found more serious and what sources you found more credible, which in turn involved as much identity as critical thinking. Discourse here justifying vaccine avoidance cited how new and supposedly dangerous mRNA vaccines are and how low risk COVID was. People were making rational risk calculations (but often with bad info).

True, and another factor with Covid is the difference between left and right regarding compliance with govt. authority. In Rand's book he cites that polling showed 40% of democrats said the govt should fine or jail anyone who refuses to get vaxed. The republican response was almost 0%.

The simple fact is the mandates is where it went off the rails, morally and rhetorically.
Mandates galvanized people who are against mandates about anything and gave the conspiracy Qrew more fodder.
For an example, we got exposed for pushing anti vaccine propaganda in foreign countries to impede the Chinese covid response

It’s true, they cannot be trusted. They are the type to throw their fellow citizens under the bus to save their own skin. God help us if we’re ever in a life or death situation with one of them.

Yup. My son had just become a Marine after a busted tailbone and a cracked rib at Paris Island. Was waiting for orders when covid hit. He didn't want the Vax but didn't want to bail on his friends and new career. I wish anyone that has something bad to say about my son could say it to my face. I'm retired and wife has my bail money.

I don't think we've ever seen a political movement in the US with its own set of health authorities, but that's essentially what we had in parallel to the institutional ones. Chaotic.
