.it's called mutually assured destruction.
Which means exactly nothing when you're talking about a country governed by theocrats who think nothing of facilitating suicide missions on the regular because they believe that dying while sticking it to infidels gets them 72 virgins in paradise.
Suicide missions are a part of their culture.
Just look at them right now. At this point we've killed two layers of leaders, crippled them economically, the Rial is at historic lows, their citizens are facing widespread business closures and bankruptcies, their GDP has shrunk by over 10% already, they can't get raw materials, refined fuel, food, and medicine into the country, their ground military has been decimated by as much as 80% depending on your source and over 50 bases and command centers have been destroyed, a severe water shortage is affecting 96% of the country, and oh yeah, we bombed the holy frick out of them, destroying a huge swath of their infrastructure, and they are still defiant and shooting at ships in the Strait.
I really don't know what it would take for some of you to wake up and understand that there is a reason that every single president since 1979 has agreed that Iran cannot get nukes.
Those presidents haven't agreed on taxes, interest rates, immigration, women's rights, LGBTQ issues, education, welfare, how to deal with crime, agricultural issues, the environment, energy policy, spending, how to run and fund the military, what their favorite color is, whether Coke is better than Pepsi, or ANY SINGLE OTHER frickING THING EXCEPT THAT IRAN CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS.
There is a reason for that. Those presidents have all understood something that so many posters here refuse to understand—Iran would actually use them.
And they wouldn't have to use them on us, either, for it to severely frick our day up for a long time. A nuclear exchange between Israel and Iran would cause a global economic collapse. You think $6 a gallon diesel is a problem?
There were lots of Soviet officials back in the day just itching to nuke the US, just like Iran would be itching to nuke Israel today, and mutually assured destruction didn't scare those guys a bit.
There are at least five incidences that the public (now) knows about in which the only reason that large scale nuclear strikes weren't executed is that one guy (different guy in each case) either didn't follow policy (and probably got in trouble for it) or refused to give his consent or order until more information came in.
When everybody has a gun, the guy who isn't afraid of dying is the one who has the advantage. They are not afraid to die.

would argue that the previous administration, which took away our access to our offshore drilling, and our pipelines, along with selling off 65% or more of the national reserves... Had much more to do with this.
That’s cool. You’d be wrong.
Prove it.

all the previous administration’s fault… crazy how we didn’t feel it until the exact moment we started another war in the Middle East. Wild coincidence!
I love how you can't remember that Biden pulled that, on his way out the door.

Are you under the impression that we stopped offshore drilling and closed off existing pipelines? This is such a juvenile view of the world that doesn't reflect reality. And Trump is saying hold my beer with releasing our reserves.
I swear some of you live in an alternate reality.
How much of it did we lose, compared to what we had?

I don't know, but I do know that Biden set a new record during his administration for domestic oil production. He broke Trump 1.0's record. Who broke Obama's record. Who broke GW Bush's record.
(See the trend there?)

Which president was the one who got us to the level of production that we had?
Riding coat tails there.

Bush.
Then Obama.
Then Trump.
Then Biden.
Can you not read? If you're going to claim that Biden "rode on Trump's coattails," apart from being a ridiculous thing to claim, then you can't avoid the conclusion that Trump rode Obama's.
The point is that none of them have either stopped or facilitated domestic oil production more than any other. That's clearly the trajectory of something that's being driven by improvements in the technology of harvesting the oil, not domestic energy policy.
None of those guys listed "got us to the level of production that we had."

Ok genious.
Look it up and see which president invested in improving methods of production. And look up how that investment resulted in how fuel production was able to be doubled in output.
Don't look at timelines. Look at actions

If we would just lower corporate taxes again, they will trickle some down to you.
Im thinking of the Pissing on a Ford graphic except Elon and Zuckerberg are trickling it right in down to the American people.

This is absolutely bullshite. Israel and Iran destroying each other would basically only leave the Palestinians as the last bad actor in the Middle East.

Tell us how Trump will ‘fix’ it when he’s the person who broke it in the first place. Trump has no ‘fix’.

Judging by the mandate given during the election in 2024...most likely the very same way.

Enjoy these prices while they last. It’s going to get much worse when Democrats get back in power.
