Sure they can if your body could potentially kill others

Untrue

Look at Hong Kong. A densely populated, gross mega city that crushed the virus because people where masks all of the time.

I do too but I don’t think wearing a mask carries anywhere near the same political impact of stay at home orders, putting folks out of work, and running up “stimulus” debt. If wearing a mask lessens the justification for those things happening then I’ll wear my mask. When it is proven that the masks don’t help then I’ll stop, but unfortunately collectively we haven’t tested the mask wearing enough to come to a logical conclusion on their effectiveness yet.

I don't get why people who feel the need to wear mask can't just stay the frick home.

What the hell does being naked have to do with making someone wear a mask? They obviously aren't the same. One is a social norm protected by a current law and one is gov overreach. Dumb comparison.

Actually it is not.

Link to where masks have made a difference.

This isn’t a battle I‘m even the tiniest bit interested in fighting.
On my list of priorities and concerns, it’s near #83.
People should have the freedom to do what they want to do (within the law, of course).

But I’m in the hospital at least once a week.
I’ve had this discussion with my doctors and nurses.
There’s a reason surgeons wear masks.
And there’s a reason health care workers are, in large part, avoiding COVID: They mask up.

I’m a non-seatbelt wearer.
That’s my business.
If I fly through my windshield during an accident, I have no one to blame but myself.

That’s how I feel about masks.

I truly wish you and yours the best.
Hopefully this will be a distant memory for all of us soon.

The reason why we're going back into shutdown mode is because the cases are rising again.

It doesn't matter that deaths are not rising. This is a political situation and until the cases subside, the media and half of the country are going to cause a shut down.

Masks are proven to slow the spread.

So we can all stay home and not wear masks, or we can all wear masks, and get to go out.

I want to go to work and I want to go out and I want to live my life. And, I don't want to spread the virus (particularly to someone at risk) if I happen to get it. So wearing a mask makes total sense to me.

Maybe no one to blame but yourself but your inaction would impact many others: friends/relatives, 1st responders, insurance rates....all for a simple choice.

If I thought wearing a mask would finally make these people STFU about this virus and totally reopen our economy I’d gladly wear one.

But since I know the endgame of the left is to inflict maximum economic pain before Election Day, they can shove their masks up their arse!

Because the same people who want to force you by law to wear a make were the same people who said don't wear a mask and it's ok not to wear a mask if you protest/riot but you can't grocery shop without one. Seems hypocritical to me.

Absolutely.
The same could be said about many things in life.
It’s very cavalier and selfish of me; I’ll be the first to admit it.

If they would have done that and only that from the get go no one would be outraged. But you lock us down, violate our constitutional rights, intentionally hurt the economy, and try to keep it down, don’t think I’m going to wear a fricking mask.

The “COVID is a hoax” thing Is going to alienate the moderate votes we need to win.

Democrat and foreign trolls are getting paid to spread that, and y’all are taking the bait without even thinking about it.

Because they* aren't effective and I'm not wearing something just to make you feel better.

*referring to the granny made cloth masks everyone wears around the chin.

This sentence acknowledges that it cannot be stopped. So either we can get exposed now, or sometime in the future. I'll take sooner over later to get on with life without it.
