Try harder. There are many smash-able liberal faces out there you can practice on.

I've learned there's no escaping it when turning on the tv or any source of media. Even if you're not watching a news station, our favorite shows are also turning political and SJW like.

My advice is stick with a close group of friends (hopefully with the same ideals or those that understand different opinions are what make us who we are) and block out all the bullshite the world is shoving down our throats right now. MSM is an addiction that we all need to rid ourselves from. I admit I do follow it to only get as heated as you've stated. The big machine is doing all it can to keep us pawns moving the direction it wants, but don't let it. Go out and vote for the causes you believe in and just continue L-I-V-I-N. Put down the MSM koolaid and grab a brew with friends and loved ones and enjoy the good times with those that matter.
