The Geneva Convention applies to combatants in Uniform and civilian non combatants.
It was designed to keep combatants in Uniform.
Combatants who are not in uniform can be treated in any way with no international laws governing them.

You realize that unless the words "treat captured infidels humanely" are written in the Qur'an, that ISIS won't do it? They don't see themselves as a traditional army, and they likely don't see what they do as something even close to any movements before them that led to war.
