Part of being a mediator and making deals is getting people on record where they stand. Once you know where everyone stands, it is easy to start working on the deals.
Trump has been very good about making people publicly state where they are on issues in the middle east. No ambiguous shite. Everyone goes on record and then you work from there.

Given the disaster that is Syria: the murderous Assad regime, the Iranians and Russians on their doorstep, the presence of ISIS and Islamists of all stripes, I would support Israel just annexing this turf which they have held since 1967.

However, defending/taking control of it with missiles, artillery, anti-missile batteries, F-16's, tanks, APC's, drones, and a variety of small arms and anti-tank weapons does require tax dollars and you can bet they'll have their hand out to John Q American Taxpayer
