A top defense publication is reporting that “a strong and persistent rumor has emerged” that Alabama’s Redstone Arsenal is leading a heated competition among states to become headquarters of the new Space Command.
quote:
Hosting the new command would make Huntsville and Alabama key to defending both American military and commercial satellites in space. It would bring thousands more well-paid and highly skilled professionals to the state.

In 25 years, Huntsville will be the leading city in Alabama and the economic engine of the state. With or without the Space Command.

I still find it hilarious how absurd the left's reaction to the idea was.
I mean, the idea of Space Command makes perfect sense and these dumb asses merely showed their ignorance by running around acting like Trump thought we were gonna be flying X-wings or something.

One could argue that it is today but, when the direct competition is Birmingham and Mobile... well...

If dear leader had done it, every tranny in the country would be signing up and buying sequined space suits.

Yep, exactly. Just hope they can somehow protect some of the really good secret places.

After living in Colorado over 25 yrs I'll say:
Good! I hope it does go to HSV. Calirado is rapidly becoming the new Commifornia so to hell with both and give the money and growth to Alabama.

Alabama is big enough, it doesn't need more growth, especially the kind of growth that brings more liberal voters and shitty neighbors.

Lockheed Martin just announced they are bringing in 300 new jobs and expanding in Huntsville.
People love that socialist power we give them.
Or it's always been overhyped.

I grew up there, the way it used to be, definitely wasn't overhyped. That place has been cut up and compartmentalized already. I just hope that some of the natural secrets can survive, but probably, all of the "important people" will surround those places with their mansions, so that scum like me, can't go there anymore.
