One problem is that the people who are doing almost all of the inventing and innovation that allows us to support 7+ billion people are the ones having fewer children. The ones who are generally having many children are not those who are keeping the world afloat.

So let's do this.
Have farmers stop farming, have the power companies stop producing power, have the ranchers quit ranching and let people survive on their own.
Those who can live, those who can't die. No buying your survival, you have to have skills of some sort that people are willing to trade their food for.
How long will any of these idiots last?
