Lower energy prices could in theory lower core inflation. Lower energy prices would likely hurt the Russian and Iranian economies too.
I don't think most domestic energy producers want oil much below $65/barrel.

Correct in that, we have to loosen up on regulations to allow for new refineries to handle additional production. We should not be importing a drop of oil unless it is to take away from other countries reserves for them to rely on the US in the future
Oil companies now focus on returns and maximizing production with the plays they have.

don't know hardly anything about downstream operations, but those that do have said that we import heavier oil because that's the stuff our major refineries are built to handle. We export the lighter stuff that we produce in places like Permian.
Yeah
When it comes to energy independence, it’s a misnomer.
Our refineries are geared to refine imported oil.
Sure, We produce more than we use but we can’t refine all of it.

Buy a tank farm. There is a refinery bottleneck so when production increases under Trump storage space will become a premium.

Because our oil isn't best for gasoline
We need Canada for that. But we can sell our to all markets.

The tech industry is retrofitting nuclear power plants.
Seems that is the future to power AI.

If I had the cash, I would. Storage already near a premium.
But with my luck, 6 more refineries would begin construction and become operational in record speed as soon as I did.
