Typical gov. Something that is so easy a caveman can do it yet the gov. wants to turn it into a full time project.

5 tasks that immediate supervisors will be doing next week
1. Update my organization chart for all individuals reporting to me, footnoted to show who is directly charged to my account
2. Locate the physical presence of all direct reports to ascertain return to office status
3. Review employee files to verify that reviews have been taken place the last 5 years per policy
4. Locate cost reports for all fed credit cards issued to my employees
5. Have a welcome back to the office for all employees, that initiates the process of job assignments updates.
the employees have it easy with their 5 note e-mail. every supervisor will be grouchy

Nobody in the private industry provides the scale of data we do, public and private industry rely on our data and products to make money

and we are one of the few agencies that make American businesses money
That is an oxymoron. Our government wouldn’t exist without appropriating the earnings of it’s citizens.

We are the source for much of the nation’s geospatial data. That data is consumed by geospatial companies, state governments and counties across the nation. Add to that, we’ve mapped the nation and update each 24k map every three years which provides maps to the nation. If you use a GPS, guess what, you are consuming our data

Starlink and Google map up date the same data daily

Google didn’t change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America until we made the change in our GNIS names database.

I kind of wish this directive came out a couple of weeks ago when Doug Burgum was voted on simply so one of my bullet points could be that I created the first federal map including the Gulf of America name

And none of that changes the fundamental nature of government.

I have no problem with the email update, my comment was directed towards the folks that think this will only take minutes. I’m certain my leadership will make this unnecessarily difficult.
Incompetent managers is even more of a reason we need the federal workforce evaluated. We can't not take the cuts we need because bad leaders make it a hassle. DOGE is looking to make the government efficient. Pointing out such inefficiencies might be to your benefit.
This also makes no sense. If my boss's boss asks me a question, I don't run the answer by my manager, and my manager doesn't stick his nose in the middle of things that aren't his business. This pointless level of bureaucracy is why you're being audited now.
I still don't understand why government workers think they should be exempt from the same things private sector employees deal with regularly. They are no more special than anyone else.

This Elon Email decree is falling apart. Kash has said do not reply and Tusli Gabbard is also telling her people to not reply. Current Assistant SecDef is also stating do not reply.
Elon when too far on this one. I have no problem with weeding out the dead weight but this is not the right way.

Good to know that you think verifying your production is too difficult a thing to ask
I never worked from home. My job relied on unannounced, on the job inspections by several supervisors during a year. That way there was never even a thought about weekly falsified emails

Where did I say verifying my production would be too difficult? I flat out said that the status update would be easy were it not for leadership. And who said anything about working from home, even though I’m authorized to work from home two days a week, I am on site pretty much everyday as my job is easier if I’m on site
