How should the next MAGA president deal with China?

Let's say Trump returns or DeSantis is elected in 24. What are some actionable steps they could make to dealing with China and holding them accountable? What would their reaction be?

Best way to deal with them is to stop ALL deals (trade) with them.

Incentives for US-based manufacturers to keep their manufacturing and supply chains here.

If by incentives, you mean penalties for not doing so, I agree.

Yes and twice on sunday. Give 100 support to USA first in manufacturing at every level. ignore anything with Ukraine and Russia, no concern of anyone here. Ignore China, no reason to go to war over Taiwan. If they want to protect themselves from China, then we can sell them a few Nukes and let them deal with it themselves. bring the majority of our military home and build more bases close to the Mexican border. Tell the Mexican government to get out of the way and proceed to go to war with the cartels. Part of this deal is the bring some the manufacturing being done in China to Mexico. This is a nice start.

First thing is to stop the China land grabbing in the US, and seize back the land they bought up and give it families that lost loves ones to Covid.

Not allow any Chinese students at our universities, should be the first step. I don’t know why this is so hard to comprehend.

First, tariff the frick out of them then let the chips fall where they may.
We don't have free trade with China. Not even close. Free trade is a two way street. It is very difficult to sell products made in America in China. Until there is a two way street in trade, aka reciprocity, then tariff all goods that come from China.
I know we do send some coal and grains to China but that is not enough. Their markets needs to be open to US businesses just like our markets are open to Chinese businesses.

Forgive me if this sounds a little chippy because I mean it sincerely.
Accountable for what specifically? Because the actions taken depend on what you want to hold them accountable for.

Emasculate the federal reserves policy of punishing savings, deregulate, abolish taxes, end the legal tender of USD, and adapt a smart immigration plan. Liberalize our patent system.
China will rise regardless, but we cant to war over Taiwan. Same with Japan. China's neighbors will have to prepare themselves and not depend on us.
We need India to become a powerhouse. I'm open to sharing top secrets with them as a counter to China.
Finally, we need to respect Russia's desire for a buffer in Europe and stop NATO encroachment. We need Russia as a counter to China.

One item not mentioned here so far is to pass laws at national and state levels enabling lawsuits against the Chinese government and the city of Wuhan for the spread of COVID.
You want to get back all that Chinese property in the US, here's how to do it.
And a Trump/DeSantis MAGA/revivalist conservative leader who does this will cleave off a whole lot of trial lawyer money from the Democrats and turn it Republican.

ETA: the tariffs were a half-arse measure. We need to ramp up production of the things for which we've become dependent on China. it will take years but we really need to rip the band-aid off. Sooner the better.

That's a policy Henry Clay and Lincoln would approve.

It’s amazing how this point is glossed over EVERYWHERE.
People still think it’s from eating bats from a bizarre. It’s a palatable as monkey fricking. This weapon and it’s tenacity to be controlled has crippled the entire world and the one country that could stand to lose a couple billion people not only get a pass but are setting the standards for life out west. It’s amazing the mind frickery that is going on.
