How much more are you paying on daily "essentials" due to Tariffs?

No one ever answers this question
Roger will post a CNN article with some outlandish number but never broken down to simple math
Someone yesterday threw up Dove Mens Deodorant went from 6 to 9 so that made sense
But yet you can get a 3 pack on amazon for 17 with tax about 18.5 so thats back to being at 6
Ppl say Beef but my butcherbox is always 300
So for me nothing essential has increased to the point of crying or wanting to vote D in the midterms or 2028 like our staunch conservatives on here
Anyone got any numbers or good stories to tell

Insurance - all kinds and it is essential/required. Can’t say it’s due to tariffs, but why not?

Yes. They go off of expected replacement parts for cars and replacement material for houses. Those are being tariffed.

I’m recently single and enjoying living as cheaply as possible.
Been eating mostly rice and ground beef(I’m trying to gain about 25 pounds) for a couple months. Ground beef at Publix here is over $9 a pound. I’ll either start looking for cheaper ground beef at Costco or switch to ground turkey/chicken if that works.
I’m cognizant of prices, but so frugal that it hasn’t hurt anything.
The only thing I’ve put off for a bit is the purchase of a watch I’ve been eying. But that’s not unlike me to do anyways. I like to way over research any larger purchases I make.

Biden might’ve broken it, but Trump sure as shite hasn’t fixed it.

CVS will always be more expensive than Walmart or DG. Their prices are outrageously high to begin with. We just bought a box of 6 sticks of degree at Sam’s for around $20.

My insurance is about quadruple of what it was about 5 years ago. Electricity bill is about double, water is about triple. But, big screen TV's are still affordable!

Thatvwas the baby box. 300 for me is the large box
So if you bought 2 ito equal the big box it would 290
I appreciate the response

One thing consumers will never understand is that prices will never go back down. Trump has controlled inflation to where it’s not continuing to go up. Blame needs to go to corporations or consumers because consumers continue to buy.

I have no "numbers" to provide, but I buy groceries and I haven't seen the price move up or down, overall.
Im ok with this. The US economy is HUGE and will take some time to reflect Trumps positive impact.
From everything I read and watch, folks will begin to see it in a noticeable way in May.
I'll believe that before I ever believe the TDS fricktards that have consistently been proven wrong on every "get Trump" prediction for the last 8 years.

This is a general statement and is false.
All generalizations are false. Just cynics, which usually hate Trump more than they live their country. IMHO

I buy all of our meat locally. A full cow used to cost me 1.8-2k processed. Now I’m paying about 2.5k.
Marginal but still an increase. A full cow will last our family close to 11 months so it’s a one time purchase per year.
Other than that I haven’t noticed a price increase, but my wife rarely goes to the grocery store for essential food items. I’ve not heard her complain about a price increase in hygienic products like the deodorant you mentioned. She has complained that TP and paper towels went up a lot.
A lot of this is regional, imo.

It’s not false. If a company rises prices which contributes to their earnings they’re not going to reduce it down the following year showing losses. Most of this inflation was brought by businesses and corporations during Covid. It’s just now settling.

quote:And there's an example as to where Trump missed the boat with messaging. Trump inherited the smallest US cattle in nearly 75yrs due entirely to Potatobrain mismanagement. Worse yet, 75yrs ago the US population was less than half what it is now. Meaning on a per capita basis, we'd not seen cattle numbers this bad since the 19th century.
Biden might’ve broken it, but Trump sure as shite hasn’t fixed it.
That message should have been run on rinse and repeat until it was seared into the public's brain, because the public is generally stupid in figuring such things out for itself. It takes 3-4yrs at a minimum to refurbish a thinned herd. That message should have been run on rinse and repeat until it was seared into the public's brain as well, because the public is generally stupid in figuring such things out for itself.
That said, are you struggling to figure such things out for yourself?
