It would be a dramatic moment if they could re-enact Jules's Ezekiel quote from Pulp Fiction. That "strike thine enemies down with furious thunder to rescue thee from the tyranny of white men" part is great.

It's not so much what they do for their districts as it is what their presence as a legislator implies they are doing for their districts.
A cornerstone of liberal philosophy is that government is The Great Equalizer and through government they are able to make everyone equal. They create programs and spend money toward this goal but it's primarily performative with them functioning more as pass-throughs for money to fund their campaigns as well as NGO jobs for their friends and familiy.
Look not only at the massive fraud in Medicare and homelessness being dug up in places like Minnesota and California but at how the resistance to uncovering it has come almost exclusively from liberals.
So of course they are going to rage, their honeypot is in danger of being taken away because they can no longer protect it with the +1 Shield of Crying "Racism".

The owner of our company's wife worked for the patriot missile program. They wanted to set up production in his district and he outright told them what do I get for it. They went somewhere else. I am sure people would have liked those jobs

It’s why there is such a push for “programs” whenever there is bad crime news. Anything to get tax dollars flowing to these thieving NGOs.
