re: How many people understand what happened yesterday with Trump's 90 day pause on tariffs?

I think it all boils do to Trump is trying to fix a broken system. China isn't bending the knee and they are our biggest enemy and they have decided to fight back. So we are building a battle plan to take on China and since they are the only true rivals of the USA we will deal with the scraps after we fix the biggest leak... China.
And this ^^^ is why Americans should be livid at our fricked up DC Uniparty System for assisting the ascension of the CCP/China. They created the problem/monster currently known as the CCP.
Trump hasn't blamed one foreign nation for the mess the US is currently in with regards to terrible trade agreements and crushing debt. That day last week when Trump stood outside addressing the media and he looked over his shoulder and pointed the Capitol Building and White House and said, there is where the blame lies for the current pickle the US is in.

The real answer to the question, is that I know its temporary because in the grand scheme of things individual stocks are worth some sort of technical evaluation in response to their metrics.
The market moves with news, but if the metrics are still there long term the market will bounce back. That goes both directions.
I don't think in 90 days that stocks are worth this much less. Its just short term response to global news.
If I knew clear intent I would have less problem with it.
If you think Trump and his team are smart enough to reorder local trade to isolate China and that’s what this is, okay, fine. I’m in. Slap 400% tariffs on them while loving on the rest of the world and say, “See to us, we love to buy shite.” If we can cull communist China and Xi’s human rights abuses from the herd, I’m on board with doing it.
I wholeheartedly agree that this will settle on the metrics, but those metrics will shift based on how this settles out, and the unknown intention of what is being attempted here is what leaves me unnerved.
I don’t care about a 90 day hit, I care about this tipping into a temporary recession. But I want to know what it’s all for, not guessing at six potential theories that we’re okay with if any of them are accomplished.

I wasn’t being condescending, buddy ole pal. I sincerely meant what I said. But I understand it’s difficult when comprehension skills are in short supply.

There are a lot of TDS addled never Trumpers on this forum who are aligned with the Cultural Marxist via their hate for all things MAGA and Trump.

Are you convinced this "recession" is making people consume less? That's where I am, people love their cheap shite. I just don't see anything that's going on right now making a lasting change.
I also don't think China wants to stop selling cheap shite to Americans.

This is an interesting case. 50% of the national wealth is owned by the top 1% but the Chinese demo in Indonesia is still rather low at less than 5%. Top 1% is Chinese
There is still a LOT of animosity toward the Chinese there.

The anti Trumpers say Trump caved, he buckled because the stock and bond markets were tanking.
If that were true and China was behind the bond market collapse, are they that dumb to have boxed themselves in like Trump currently has them?

I just saw on the news crawl the Aussies told the CCP they're not interested in going to war with the US economically speaking.

I don’t see anything currently that will make a lasting change, but that’s the bated breath, I guess.

Doesn’t matter, there are some people who will defend anything Trump does, and there are others who will never ever believe anything good he does is on purpose. They simply cannot accept that Trump has some economic sense and has a strategy. If someone on TV says orange man bad, they agree.

The average person has no clue what BRICS is. The average person has no clue about the worldwide assault on the dollar and the value deterioration because of it. The average person literally has zero concept of how vulnerable we are.
The typical democrat lives in lala land, and most conservatives are working hard and don’t digest world economic content.
