No, but it's his choice pursuant to whatever contracts he's agreed to

The UN was the war like party there, right? They created the resolutions (with Russian approval, explicitly or implicitly) and asked NATO for help, correct?

Does it ever give you pause that you’re supporting the policies and actions of a group of people that have fricked up literally everything they’ve touched this century? After Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and I’d throw Covid on that pile - it should be clear to you by now that, whether by design or good old fashioned retardation, the people driving the Ukraine shitshow leave an impressive path of economic and human destruction in their wake.

Yeah because the "NATO" excuse was bullshite lol

fore 1941.So has NATO. The question SFP posed had to do with UN approval, not "warlike" status.
No it hasn’t. It had operated with UN approval. Unlike Japan it has never conquered. It had acted as a policeman of sorts and not as a criminal taking what belongs to others.
Japan is a terrible analogy.

I don’t think Putin had impacted the world economy that much, but he sure has caused a lot of misery and suffering.

NATO is the obstacle to improving Russian-Western relations
By Ruslan Pukhov
Mar 28, 2019
One of the distinctive features of the modern Western political narrative with regard to NATO is an almost total misunderstanding of how the alliance is perceived in Russia. First and foremost, the Western political establishment seems blithely unaware of the fact that the issue of NATO is the main stumbling block in Russian-Western relations, and that any detente is impossible while that obstacle remains unresolved.
In Russia, NATO is generally viewed as part of the American war machine and an instrument of U.S. global dominance. That view is shared by almost the entire Russian political spectrum. In fact, the same view also prevails among NATO members from eastern Europe, where the alliance is seen as an instrument of U.S. influence and U.S. defense assurances.

No I’m correcting the assertion that the US started the war. Putin started the war.
And I would certainly agree that our Covid policies and Biden’s policies have done way more damage to the world economy than Putin has.

Putin didn’t start the war. It’s arguable that Russia did though. But wars start for a reason. Understanding that enables avoiding war. This war was totally avoidable.

Putin as the leader of Russia started the war.
You can gin up all the reasons as to why he did it, but he did it.
The war is Putin’s war. No one forced him to take the drastic actions that he did.
