I’m a gun owner and I don’t think America works without guns. But I’m not completely closed minded to modifications in the law if they make sense.

Yet you sport a Texas Longhorn icon.

It confounds me how a guy can be so racist and cheer a team with so many black players.

Well, my primary reason is to protect my family against tyrannical government intrusion, should we ever get to that point. One’s reply to that may be, “ you wouldn’t have a chance”, and they may be right, but I prefer a sporting chance, at least, if that day ever comes. I am also a believer that mass possession of these rifles can serve as a deterrent to bad actors from the government. Hell, I know that’s right; that’s why they have their sights set on taking them from us.

Another reason is that I desire to be adequately prepared to defend my family against criminals. They do invade homes. They do wear body armor. They do come in numbers of more than one.

Also, I hawg hunt on our land

I do. And I love my black child, but I also know I am exponentially more likely to be killed by a black than a white.

Not if you’re white.

Black and white alike are more likely to be killed by one of their own race

You don’t need air conditioning or a car that can go faster than 70 mph either. We’re not restricted to what some politician thinks we “need”.

I shot pellets in JROTC during high school. My father told me his dad shot rifles at high school. Sparta mandated sons were taught the spear & sword. I don’t recall an abundant amount of school shootings/stabbings between that stretch.

There is only one legitimate argument.

An honest debate can be had with people that support full gun confiscation vs those that ardently defend 2A. All other arguments are intellectually dishonest from lefties.

Any and all gun laws short of total assault on 2a with an enforced confiscation (like Australia had happen) will do nothing to stop 90% of gun violence. And can you fathom how many would die defending themselves if they tried to enforce that???

Gun laws are pushed SOLELY to erode 2A. They will not solve a single issue. They're pushed bc the left knows how to win. Keep pushing the goal post until you win enough people over time.

Educate yourselves then BE SURE to educate others how critical this issue is. Don't be silent. Use action, and stand up for 2A if you care to keep the one actual power we have.

This isn’t about specific plans out there. It’s about any new laws designed to restrict purchases relative to status quo

I definitely support a change from the status quo as the status quo isn't working.

NY has semi auto, mag restrictions and red flag laws yet still had a mass shooting. Which change you think will actually make a difference?

Funny how all the whackadoodles that do these mass shootings have leaned heavily to the left!

First define “assault type rifle”

Second have you ever been hog hunting or gone out and just shot on a range?

Lastly, what do you think the Founding Fathers intended when they wrote the Constitution?

No idea that I've heard yet has enough protections to not get abused.

So I'm out

They'll get the 18 to 21 thing passed, just because it sounds reasonable to people who aren't paying attention
