Biden administration not mandating COVID vaccines for White House staff, Psaki says

Agencies “generally” should not require vaccination for federal employees or contractors to come back into the office, and they shouldn’t require those individuals to disclose their vaccination status, according to new guidance issued on Tuesday by the White House-led Safer Federal Workforce Task Force. The guidance does note that individuals can choose to voluntarily disclose that information
Agencies should, however, use any information agencies do receive about employees and contractors being unvaccinated – or declining to provide vaccination information – “to implement [Centers for Disease Control]-recommended mitigation measures, including masking and physical distancing,” the guidance says.

I will lobby to work from home first. I am not on their insurance. My boss lives 1000 miles away, I have zero reason to really go into office more than a few times per year.

Sadly, though, I’m the breadwinner and I feel like I’ll get stuck getting stuck.

Mine hasn’t tired to mandate yet, so I’m curious how they try to justify if they do.

At first, there was a mirage that this was a workplace safety endeavor. But now we know you still catch, you still transmit.

So what’s the point?

My wife keeps spewing the false rhetoric that I can infect others but she ignores the fact that even if you are vaccinated you can still spread it. We have been fighting about it. All of a sudden she’s worried about my health even though she told me last week I am in better shape than 90% of the people my age.

If there’s a vaccine mandate and you don’t comply Supreme Court has ruled its legal you lose your job and it’s basically you resigning not being fired

Promotion and raise already set for Nov and this job is pretty setup so no need to walk unless they get crazy about the vaxx

I will let them fire me. Short timing retirement anyway.

They can stick that shite in my corpse but not before!

Either way if he walks or gets fired for cause he is not getting benefits. So probably best for him to resign.

For those that will force the issue, hope you can find employment, because there will be a ton of companies/organizations require the vaccine to begin.

As a retiree, thankfully I'm not in the same boat as so many, but if I were, I'd opt to quit. It's too soon to know what long term repercussions will develop. Two years from now there might be a lot of very unhappy people. I do not want to be one of them.

Any stories of a business reversing course on vaccines over people quitting or leaving?

We’re supposed to go live on 9/20.

Senior leadership is visibly worried about departures. There must be enough people pushing back. And with a 9/15 deadline, they won’t know until it’s too late. The ambiguity is killing them.

And this is going down in the worst job market of our lifetimes.

But they’re married to mandate. It would be humiliating to change course, and either way, they risk being fired. Fired if they change course, and fired if it blows up.
