The Russians are inflicting as many civilian casualties as possible to stop and insurgency and to ground down their enemies. Ukraine hasn’t stopped anything or inflicted much in the way of casualties on the Russians. Ukraine should surrender and stop the slaughter. Zelensky is probably in Poland or another location anyway. Ukraine belongs to Russia and is not a sovereign nation.

According to photos in the media it appears they are doing exactly that - blowing it to hell that is.

When the MSM, SM, and this administration tell me that Russia is losing to Ukraine. It's my duty to believe them.

Not only is Russia methodically crushing Ukraine militarily they are the fulcrum point for BRICS and now Saudis to decouple form the dollar which is a BIG frickING DEAL. And in terms of the latter the Biden admin played right into Putin's hands.

I haven't seen it reported that the Russians have lost any territory that they have gained.

Not sure about losing but horribly
underperforming with all that they supposedly have invested in the military since Putin.

Technology is a joke along with their urban warfare tactics and it
also appears they disregarded the most basic maintenance on much of their hardware

War is not like role play board games. In a board game you move pieces around, roll dice, declare property taken, and then the game is over. War in the real world consists of violent actions followed by the continuing eternity. The game does not end. You have to consider the physical and economic damage inflicted, the true cost to the aggressor, how to manage the land and people after the shooting stops, if it ever stops, and what to do next.

For the US, much of these considerations have not really been visible because our wars take place on the other side of the world. For Russia and Ukraine, everything about the war is right in front of them.

Russia has not scored any easy military victories. It looks like it can never take over Ukraine in any true sense. The Ukrainians do not appear willing to submit to Russian rule. So what good is it to roll tanks over land when it will never actually be yours? Also the costs to Russia in terms of economic isolation and impact are severe and growing. Military losses well exceed what any rational person would consider to be reasonable. Russia has also unified the Western nations in a manner that will shift global power for the near future away from Russia.

Sure, Russia can bomb apartment buildings and kill people. It can kidnap mayors of small towns and kill them. But can it do anything that resembles “winning?” It sure doesn’t look like it.

To be fair they do get their news from Steven Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel and when the look to an alternative view to be "objective" they turn to Hannity.

I think that once you see either Karkiv or Mariupol fall you'll see a consolidation of territory in short order. I know an Retired American colonel wo believes that we are not paying attention to where the South and the Battle for Kyiv will come from Russian troops out of the Crimea in a few weeks

Russia could literally flatten Ukraine if they would want to, but they would like to get the Ukraine with at least some of the people still living and a good portion of the infrastructure and buildings intact.

Putin considers the Ukrainian people Russian (at least half of them or so).
