The Dems released this for totally political reasons, most of the report is bs and he did nothing illegal, or at least nothing that would stand up in a court case. And the dems know most of it is bs, they just want to go after the guy and make it look as bad as possible (hence the "trafficking" word being used).
There's also stuff in there that did actually happen and that might cause him to lose his seat or embarrass his family so he resigned in the hopes of keeping it from being released, it just didn't work.

i was in a dispensary in summit county, co a couple years ago. half dozen of us waiting on the couches for our turn to shop. kid walks in and hands the guy his id. guy says "2 choices - you can explain to the cops that this is real, or you can walk out". kid high tailed it out of there. so of course we all asked to see it. looked genuine to me and everyone else. ftr i'm 51 and haven't checked an id in a long time. bouncer said he'd been at this awhile
point being, i don't expect gaetz to recognize a fake id and sounds like this one was even real. i don't care what 2 adults do, but still, if you have eyes on national office, probably shouldn't be paying to bang 18 yr old girls. it's a bad look

Totally agree. He should stay clear of chasing tail, or doing anything that can be used against you, when in that kind of position. He wasn't married, so I personally couldn't care less about her age. Just stupidly got honey potted.
He rubbed people wrong enough they don't care to toss him under that bus. I just hope he repays them as the majority of folks in Congress aren't staying away from things they shouldn't.

Is the allegation that Gaetz actually checked her ID to verify she was of age and she presented him a fake ID? If that’s the case, I can see why Gaetz hasn’t been charged. The fact that he bothered to check her ID suggests he was trying to not do something illegal.

Get everyone clamoring about the release of a Ethics review and the release of the report. Now people start asking why ANY ethics review is kept quiet and swept under the rug. The should be held accountable or exonerated and not keep the whole thing a secret from the public.

It's a report from the office of congregational ethics. They aren't empowered to prosecute anything . They are a group of ethics lawyers that supposedly helps uphold the high ethical standards (lol) of members of congress by investigating complaints. The house can take action against members, including expulsion. geatz on x
