Not leaving = continuing the war. That's your argument. You truly aren't a serious poster.
So you think that the taliban was going to just sit there and chill with a US base sitting there after we agreed upon leaving it?

Yeah, this sounds like some revisionist history that we could have kept it.

When did I ever presume or state that the deal failed? That's your position (You're using the term void instead, but it's the same conceptual thing).

My presumption is there was a deal to be cut.

So to be fair, your vote here was to continue the war.
There would have been a settlement.

I also noticed you keep ignoring anytime anyone questions

What would you renegotiate? With what leverage? The Taliban had already full control of everything else by the time Trump left. They had no reason to enter another agreement because they held all the cards and short of reinvading, there’s nothing we could do militarily to stop them. It was literally either continue the war or leave. The Taliban and been getting bomb relentlessly for 20 years. Chest puffing and lobbing some MOABs around wast going to change the trajectory of the situation.

Yea I think we need to go in Afghanistan again. While we’re at it, Iraq and wipe out the PMF and fund a new proxy that serves our interests.
Why stop with Iran? In for a penny, in for a pound. Right?

They won the war and we agreed to remove all of our military. Why would they agree to let us keep a base when they won? They forced us to agree to remove everything because they were negotiating from a position of strength.

I have a feeling people are about to be called Un-American or Democrats because they accurately say that the Taliban won the war
That's the next pivot

Perhaps Jbird should read Art of the Deal and learn how negotiation tactics work

Trump wasn't even president during the period to renegotiate this deal. So no. That is literally impossible
