Much like the former union worker in Pennsylvania I believe the republican platform values what a decent amount of African Americans value on a daily basis than the party of transgender politics.

I'm very happy that trump worked to try to win their vote and truly believe that the republican platform reflects FAR more than 8% of African Americans and should continue to do so.

What is the next step?

That. And continue to host community meetings with them to redevelop inner city America.

I would think aiding the economy and standing for religious liberty would be considered "something to help them".

Police the inner city. Deregulate and support small businesses. If you keep them safe and boost their economy, you can win their votes.

He needs to just come out and call it like it is, they've been played for fools by a political party that gets power from fear and hate

Republicans go in and rebuild the inner cities. Trump makes speeches to black audiences saying, "Democrats talked about helping you -- I'm rebuilding your communities."

That's it. That's the only way the Republicans win black voters. Don't grow the welfare state, but do spend money to improve their lives and the strangle hold on AA votes is broken.

Meme magic.

But seriously. Probably just need to propaganda the hell out of them. Not to necessarily turn Republican, but just to open their eyes to how they are being used constantly for their votes and then left to struggle in their day to day lives. They need to have their eyes opened to reality in a slower pace because they have been held captive for much longer.

Realistically they probably can't. Not for a few generations. They should however go after the Hispanic vote with policies aimed at them.

Minority groups creating voting blocs can be a powerful force, however when that bloc overwhelmingly votes for a certain party for decades, they lose a lot of power. Why would the republicans put much effort policy wise, (democrats as well) to a group that they have no realistic chance of turning.

Blacks have a tendency to cut through the political bullshite better than whites. They are not as idealistic. Help them and they will be grateful.

Decriminalize marijuana.
Increased access to vocational training programs.
Flip national spending to things that DIRECTLY benefit US citizens (i.e., our own infrastructure vs policing the world)

So wrong.

If Colin Powell would have been the Republican Nominee in 2008 he would NOT have garnered more than 30% of the Black vote

Talked to another black guy at work today. Was pro trump as frick and said all his friends voted for him too.

I trump does what he campaigned on and brings jobs back to the inner cities...he could win them over bigly.

curb welfare, teach self reliance, provide trade and skills neck down training and basic management neck up education (getting to work on time etc)....Drain the Ghettos of crime...Basically go back to how blacks lived bt 1874 and 1950.No different than white families.... Govt intervention into Black family killed black family...Moynihan said it over and over -See: Defining Deviancy Downward...

There are some issues that Rs can address and others that are essentially impossible.

As someone else mentioned, keeping them safe and getting them to work would be huge. The biggest issue/asset the party will have is the tone of its individual members and their daily interactions with AAs. You and I are the ones that control how that goes.
